Chon Thanh Ward has been allocated a substantial public investment budget of VND242 billion for 2026. By mid-August 2026, the ward had disbursed more than 72% of the funds and is striving to achieve 100% disbursement by the end of the year, making it one of the city's bright spots in public investment disbursement.

The result has been attributed to the ward's decisive approach, close monitoring of each project's progress, clear assignment of responsibilities to leaders, and the consensus of residents and businesses.
Essential works serving the public
The road in Group 10, Phung Hung Quarter, Chon Thanh Ward, is 3 km long and runs through a densely populated area with heavy traffic. Previously, the road was only asphalted and had no sidewalks, trees, or lighting, causing inconvenience to residents traveling in the area. Using 2026 public investment funds, the local government encouraged residents to expand the sidewalks from 3 meters to 4 meters on each side, while also paving them, planting trees, and installing lighting. Once completed, the road will contribute to creating a bright, green, clean, and beautiful residential area.
Le Duc Thuan, a resident of Phung Hung Quarter, said that following the improvements, the road had become more spacious, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. Recognizing that they were the direct beneficiaries, many households voluntarily dismantled structures and handed over land to ensure that the project remained on schedule.
Along with this project, many narrow and degraded roads have been prioritized for upgrading and expansion. Doan Thi Diem Road, which is 1.4 km long and located in Quarter 2, was previously only a 5-meter-wide concrete road without sidewalks or drainage. Using 2026 public investment funds, residents agreed to dismantle the structures to make way for the road's expansion. The road is now paved with hot asphalt, is seven meters wide, and has a drainage system and one-meter-wide drainage ditches that also serve as sidewalks on both sides. It has been open to traffic.
In 2026, Chon Thanh Ward is implementing 14 traffic projects. Along with the roads already completed, work on many other projects is being accelerated.
Nguyen Nhu Vuong, a representative of the contractor for the Road No. 15 project in My Hung Quarter, said that material prices had risen sharply, while supplies had at times been scarce. However, recognizing the project as critical because it is located in an area with a market and high traffic volumes, the contractor has proactively mobilized materials, machinery, and labor and intensified construction efforts to put the road into operation as soon as possible.
Building consensus to accelerate progress
In addition to traffic projects, Chon Thanh Ward is implementing Phase 2 of the Thanh Tam Residential Area project, which covers nearly 38 hectares and has a total investment of VND160 billion. This phase focuses on infrastructure investment, including internal roads, water supply and drainage, landscaping, sidewalks, power supply, and other utilities.

The project broke ground in early March 2026. Under the contract, construction was scheduled to take 11 months, but the contractor is striving to shorten the construction period by three months. Pham The Hung, a representative of the contractor, said that to shorten construction time, the unit has arranged multiple teams to simultaneously carry out various components, while also increasing shifts and concentrating human resources, materials, and machinery to ensure the set schedule and strive to complete the project ahead of schedule.
Of the VND242 billion in public investment for 2026, more than VND131 billion was assigned by Dong Nai City to the Chon Thanh Ward People's Committee as the project owner, with the remainder comprising decentralized funds. Chairman of the Chon Thanh Ward People's Committee Nguyen Anh Tai said that after the two-tier local government model was implemented, the ward reviewed narrow and degraded roads for investment to meet residents' travel needs and create momentum for socio-economic development. The ward also focuses on urban beautification, building additional classrooms—including 28 classrooms for Luong The Vinh Primary and Secondary School—and constructing infrastructure for Phase 2 of the Thanh Tam Residential Area to serve resettlement for local projects.
According to Nguyen Anh Tai, to ensure the quality, efficiency, and progress of projects, the ward focuses on three stages: investment preparation, site clearance, and public communication and mobilization. In particular, public consensus is identified as the key factor. The implementation process is public and transparent, while the ward strengthens communication efforts so that residents clearly understand the guidelines, policies, and long-term benefits of the projects. At the same time, the ward proactively addresses difficulties facing businesses, thoroughly resolves residents' legitimate suggestions, and ensures harmony of interests among the State, residents, and businesses.
To date, in addition to achieving a high disbursement rate, Chon Thanh Ward has completed nearly 80% of the workload assigned to it as the project owner for 2026. Notably, land for most projects has been fully cleared. This is a commendable result stemming from the decisive involvement of the local government and the consensus of residents and businesses.
With a spirit of decisiveness and clear assignment of personnel, tasks, schedules, and responsibilities, Chon Thanh Ward is striving to disburse 100% of its 2026 public investment plan. This will maximize the effectiveness of investment resources, gradually improve infrastructure, create momentum for socio-economic development, and contribute to building a foundation for this industrial urban area to continue making breakthroughs in the new phase.
