Youth dedicated to volunteerism

This is not merely a slogan for action, but has also become a guiding principle for every Youth Union member and young person to volunteer, contribute, grow, and spread positive values throughout the community.

During the 2026 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, this spirit continues to be demonstrated by Youth Union members and young people who are ready to serve in remote, isolated, and border areas, undertake new and challenging assignments, and contribute practical value to the community.

Ready to volunteer

Since completing the 2026 national high school graduation examination, Tran Trung Nghia, from Trang Dai Ward and a former student of Le Hong Phong High School, has participated in three volunteer activities organized by the Ward Youth Union. All three activities focused on environmental sanitation and landscape improvement.

Nghia said that two of the three volunteer activities involved addressing waste “black spots” in his residential area, including cleaning and collecting waste along the stream beneath Loc Lam Bridge in Quarter 4C, Trang Dai Ward, and removing waste from an illegal dumping site on Road 768B in Quarter 2, Trang Dai Ward.

Although waste collection involves direct contact with garbage, mud, and foul odors and is a task not everyone is willing to undertake, Nghia readily joined the effort, driven by the pioneering spirit of youth. Together with Youth Union members and young people from Trang Dai Ward, as well as volunteers from Dong Nai Green Community and Green Bien Hoa groups, he participated in the cleanup effort. In just over two hours, the illegal dumping site along Road 768B was completely cleared. "By participating in this activity, I want to contribute to protecting the environment, to encourage people to raise their awareness, stop littering, and join hands to preserve a green, clean, and beautiful environment, enabling Dong Nai City to become increasingly civilized," said Nghia.

The Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign is not only an opportunity for young people to contribute to the community but also a practical environment in which they can develop, gain experience, and mature. He expressed the hope that the volunteer spirit among young people would continue to be nurtured and spread, creating many positive values for society.

Many Youth Union members and young people participate in volunteer activities, believing that volunteering is not only an opportunity to contribute their youthful energy to the community but also a chance to gain practical experience, develop themselves, acquire new skills, and grow through each activity. Therefore, in addition to participating in environmental cleanup and addressing waste "black spots," many Youth Union members and young people are also willing to volunteer in meaningful activities in remote, isolated, and border areas.

Nguyen Dinh Tien, a third-year Automotive Engineering Technology student at Dong Nai Technology University, is one of the students participating in the city's Digital Summer volunteer team assigned to support Binh Tan Commune. Tien said this is the second time he has volunteered in remote and border areas. During his first assignment, he supported the implementation of the two-level local government model and promoted online public services in Dak Nhau Commune. This year, he is serving as the leader of the Digital Summer volunteer team in Binh Tan Commune. During the assignment, he and his teammates have assisted residents in completing administrative procedures in the digital environment, integrating personal documents into the VNeID application, and providing guidance on safe social media use, thereby helping to narrow the digital gap across different areas.

Creating community value

Phan The Cong, Vice Secretary of the City Youth Union and Chairman of the City Vietnam Youth Federation, said that, following the direction of the Central Youth Union, the 2026 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign has been implemented in a coordinated manner across the city, with its key annual programs maintained. A new feature of this year's campaign is the Digital Summer Campaign, which aims to create a major breakthrough in community digital transformation, improve the digital skills of children, young people, and residents, and further affirm the pioneering role of youth in building digital citizens and a digital society.

To date, the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign has completed two-thirds of its implementation period. Throughout the campaign, the Standing Committee of the City Youth Union has highly appreciated the sense of responsibility, enthusiasm, and commitment demonstrated by Youth Union members and young people participating in volunteer activities. Through these programs and campaigns, Youth Union members and young people across the city have effectively utilized their strengths to create meaningful value for the community.

Under the "Exam Season Support" program, volunteer teams provided candidates with information, examination room maps, assistance with examination check-in procedures, drinking water, snacks, milk, raincoats, and study materials. They also organized volunteer motorbike teams to assist candidates with transportation, cleaned examination venues before and after examination sessions, and conducted psychological counseling activities for students.

Teams participating in the Green Summer Campaign helped clean school grounds, upgrade activity and recreation areas for children and young people, and clear grass at martyrs' memorial sites. They also provided direct assistance to residents in accessing digital platforms, improving their digital skills, and completing administrative procedures quickly and conveniently.

Under the Red Flamboyant Campaign, dozens of activities were organized to support hundreds of disadvantaged children, along with hundreds of activities were conducted aimed at improving students' foreign-language proficiency and raising awareness about preventing and combating school violence. Through the Pink Holiday and Green March campaigns, volunteer teams conducted numerous environmental protection activities across agencies, organizations, businesses, and public places. They also helped individuals, organizations, and businesses complete administrative procedures.

Under the Digital Summer Campaign, all commune- and ward-level Youth Unions have established Digital Summer volunteer teams. The City Youth Union has also formed 10 additional teams to strengthen volunteer efforts in remote, isolated, and border areas. By providing assistance at commune- and ward-level public administrative service centers and coordinating with local digital transformation teams to "go to every alley and knock on every door," the volunteers have helped improve residents' digital knowledge and skills.

With a spirit of dedication, readiness to overcome difficulties and hardships, and willingness to undertake challenging and new assignments, the youth of Dong Nai continue to affirm their pioneering role through practical actions. Every youth project and initiative, regardless of its scale, generates positive value for the community and contributes to building an increasingly civilized, modern, and compassionate Dong Nai.
