They have provided the momentum for farmers to confidently expand production, adopt new farming methods, and gradually increase their incomes.

With capital provided at the right time, many production models have gained opportunities for further development, contributing to household prosperity and promoting sustainable rural economic development.
Farmers welcome timely capital
In late June and early July, the atmosphere at Farmers' Support Fund disbursement points across the communes was livelier than usual. Joy mixed with expectation was evident on farmers' faces as they signed documents to borrow capital for investment in production development. For them, this was not simply financial support, but also the continued companionship and encouragement of the Farmers' Association for those who remain attached day after day to their fields and livestock facilities.
Among the beneficiaries was Nguyen Anh Thi, 51, of Xuan Phu Commune, whose family received a 100 million VND loan from the Farmers' Support Fund. His family has been raising goats for many years. However, due to limited capital, they have been able to raise only about 10 goats per production cycle and have been unable to expand the operation as planned. The newly disbursed loan will enable the family to increase its herd size.
As of April 2026, the city had 167 loan groups with more than 2,700 participating members. As of June 3, 2026, the Dong Nai City Farmers' Support Fund had reached nearly 318 billion VND, with outstanding loans totaling nearly 260 billion VND, supporting nearly 5,500 households through more than 1,100 group-based production linkage projects.
"In recent years, goat farming has generated a good source of income for my family. With this additional capital, we can confidently invest in expanding production, create more jobs for family members, and hopefully make our income increasingly stable," said Thi.
Le Phuc Hau, 26, also of Xuan Phu Commune, shared the same enthusiasm. His family has been engaged in goat farming for more than 10 years and currently maintains a herd of more than 30 goats while steadily accumulating experience in breeding and livestock care.
According to Hau, his long-held goal is to develop an organic goat farming model to produce clean food that meets growing consumer demand. However, changing production methods, investing in breeding stock, and upgrading livestock facilities all require substantial capital. The loan will enable his family to expand their herd and invest in organic farming as planned, creating an opportunity to increase income, repay the loan ahead of schedule, and continue expanding production.
Ha Thi Hoa, 57, of Dau Giay Ward, also expressed her satisfaction after receiving a 100 million VND loan. For her family, the loan is a significant source of funding as they prepare to renovate nearly one hectare of rambutan trees to meet VietGAP standards. Renovating the orchard, investing in fertilizers and irrigation systems, and implementing standardized production processes all require capital.
"I am truly grateful to the authorities and the Farmers' Association for always caring for farmers and helping us improve the conditions needed to develop our family economy and contribute to the local economy," said Hoa.
Empowering farmers for sustainable growth
Le Ngoc Hai, Chairman of the Xuan Phu Commune Farmers' Association, said that most households receiving loans already operate production, livestock, or cultivation models. Therefore, the Farmers' Support Fund serves as supplementary capital, enabling members to expand production and improve economic efficiency.
Hai said the local authority welcomed the continued support of the Dong Nai Farmers' Association in providing capital for members. In the coming period, the Commune Farmers' Association will continue to assess actual demand and connect members with additional funding sources to enable more households to access preferential credit. At the same time, the association has urged borrowing households to use the loans for their intended purposes, maximize investment efficiency, and fulfill repayment obligations on schedule.
According to Do Phuoc Dung, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Farmers' Association, the fund has recently contributed to increasing the added value and competitiveness of the city's crops and livestock, helping form specialized production areas and products with export potential and high economic value that are suited to the natural conditions of each locality.
In the first six months of 2026, the Dong Nai Farmers' Association disbursed loans for 80 projects financed by the city budget and eight projects funded from mobilized sources, with total disbursements reaching 52.4 billion VND. The funding helped create conditions for many members to invest in expanding production and developing effective economic models.
In addition to the Farmers' Support Fund, the Dong Nai Farmers' Association has effectively managed entrusted loans for poor households and policy beneficiaries through the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies. The Dong Nai Farmers’ Association and the Dong Nai Women's Union have also signed an inter-agency agreement with Agribank branches to implement credit policies serving agriculture, farmers, and rural areas.
Do Phuoc Dung said that in the coming period, the Dong Nai Farmers’ Association will continue to appraise and disburse Farmers' Support Fund projects, strengthen inspection and supervision to ensure loans are used effectively and for their intended purposes, focus on handling overdue debts, and develop a roadmap to address long-standing outstanding debts. The association will also review the fund's capital growth in 2026 and formulate a capital mobilization and disbursement plan for 2027.
The timely disbursement of preferential loans has enabled many farming households to transform long-standing production plans into reality. The support has helped farmers confidently expand production, improve production efficiency, and gradually build greater prosperity in their hometowns.
