The International Health Quarantine Headquarters project is part of Component Project 1, which focuses on building the headquarters for state management agencies, under Phase 1 of the Long Thanh Airport construction project. The Dong Nai City authority broke ground on the project in January 2026. To date, the underground sections of both the administrative building and the quarantine building have been fully completed.
Regarding the main structures, technical infrastructure, and auxiliary facilities, the investor signed the construction contract in mid-May 2026. The contractor is currently carrying out construction, with completion expected in December 2026. For construction equipment and specialized machinery, the City Construction Investment Project Management Board is currently approving equipment cost estimates as the basis for signing equipment supply contracts.
The International Health Quarantine Headquarters project at Long Thanh Airport was approved for investment by Dong Nai City in September 2025, with a total investment of about VND 161 billion from the local budget. The project covers more than 4,500 square meters at Long Thanh Airport and includes the components: a three-story quarantine building; a five-story administrative building with one basement; and auxiliary facilities, including an oxygen station, a generator station, a technical building combined with a wastewater treatment plant, a guardhouse, technical infrastructure systems, and the procurement of equipment serving health quarantine operations in accordance with regulations.
The project is being implemented to establish an international health quarantine headquarters capable of preventing and promptly responding to the entry of infectious diseases while ensuring the capability to respond to public health emergencies of international concern spreading through Vietnam's border gates. The facility will carry out medical measures, control hosts, disease vectors, and articles carrying infectious agents, and mitigate epidemic risk factors to protect public health.
