Amid the profound impacts of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, digital transformation, and the rapid development of social media on social life in general and young people in particular, educating younger generation about political and ideological awareness, morality, lifestyle, and essential skills has become more important than ever.
Many meaningful approaches
Phan Thanh Tu, former Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union chapter of Quarter 4 (now Trang Bom 2 Quarter), Trang Bom Ward, said that to commemorate the 79th anniversary of the Vietnam's War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947–2026), Youth Union members and young people of the chapter recently participated in a return-to-the-roots trip to War Zone D, a steadfast revolutionary base that bears the heroic legacy of the Southern military and people during the resistance against invaders.
During the visit, the Youth Union members and young people offered incense in tribute to the heroic martyrs, expressing profound gratitude to the nation's fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
War Zone D is a historical site in the southeast region that once served as a strategic revolutionary base, mobilizing the strength of the entire population throughout the country's two prolonged resistance wars. With its rugged terrain, dense forests, and intricate river systems, it functioned as a secure rear base, providing personnel, weapons, and intelligence that contributed to the Great Spring Victory of 1975, which completely liberated the South and reunified the country.
Director of the Department of Education and Training Dang Anh Tuan affirmed that promoting the leadership role of grassroots Party committees in educating the younger generation about traditions and revolutionary ideals not only helps cultivate generations of citizens with political mettle, morality, responsibility, and aspirations to contribute, but also serves as an important measure to firmly safeguard the Party's ideological foundation.
The return-to-the-roots trip to the War Zone D revolutionary base aims to educate Youth Union members and young people about the nation's glorious revolutionary traditions, patriotism, and national pride, while promoting the moral principle of "When drinking water, remember its source" in remembrance of generations who sacrificed for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. The activity also encourages each participant to strengthen determination in study, training, work, creativity, and efforts to contribute to national construction and defense.
Le Viet Hung, Secretary of the Party Cell and Principal of Tran Phu High School in Binh Loc Ward, said that the school's Party Committee and Management Board have, over the years, implemented comprehensive measures to strengthen education on political and ideological awareness, as well as revolutionary traditions, morality, and lifestyle for students. Notably, as part of the implementation of the two-tier local government model, some students participated in volunteer activities supporting digital transformation and assisting residents with administrative procedures at the ward's Public Administrative Service Center. Their participation helped reduce the workload of the center's staff, accelerate service delivery, shorten waiting times for residents, and enhance students' life skills and sense of social responsibility.
When organizing Party admission ceremonies for students, the school's Party Cell regularly holds the events at the Martyrs' Cemetery, the Long Khanh Martyrs' Memorial, or the Suoi Tre Martyrs' Memorial in Binh Loc Ward. The ceremonies are attended by many outstanding students who are potential candidates for Party membership, creating positive motivation and encouraging others to continue striving to join the Party.
Holding Party admission ceremonies at these "red addresses" enables newly admitted Party members to deepen their pride in following the example of previous generations while continuing to study, improve themselves, uphold moral qualities and political mettle, live with ideals and aspirations to contribute, and maintain the pioneering and exemplary role of members of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Strengthening young people’s resilience
Dang Anh Tuan, Director of the Dong Nai Department of Education and Training, said that under the leadership and direction of Party committees at all levels, the Dong Nai education and training sector has, over the years, implemented comprehensive measures to strengthen education on political and ideological awareness, revolutionary traditions, morality, and lifestyle for students. Education on revolutionary ideals has been integrated into both curricular and extracurricular activities and linked with the implementation of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style, contributing to shaping sound awareness, fostering patriotism, nurturing life ideals, strengthening civic responsibility, and encouraging aspirations to contribute among the younger generation.
According to Steering Committee 35 of the Tan Trieu Ward Party Committee, during the first six months of 2026, the committee basically fulfilled its assigned tasks, with particular attention given to guiding public opinion. Its fan pages and Facebook accounts published nearly 1,700 news stories and articles, attracting tens of thousands of interactions and hundreds of thousands of views. Communication activities were conducted through various formats, including images, videos, and infographics, helping disseminate positive information on the Party's guidelines and orientations, the State's policies and laws, major political events, socio-economic development achievements, and national, municipal, and ward security and defense to officials, Party members, and the public.
The education and training sector has signed cooperation programs and implementation plans by phase, topic, and academic year, while issuing guidance for educational institutions to strengthen coordination with the Youth Union, the Youth Federation, the Students’ Association, and the Young Pioneer Organization in schools to organize practical and meaningful traditional education activities. Programs including thematic discussions on the history of the Communist Party of Vietnam, national history, and local revolutionary traditions; return-to-the-roots journeys; visits to historical sites, "red addresses," museums, and revolutionary bases; and competitions on Party and national history in both in-person and online formats have attracted large numbers of pupils and students.
Forums and seminars on revolutionary ideals and the responsibilities of youth in the new era are also organized regularly, providing opportunities for students to exchange views, express opinions, and strengthen their political awareness and social responsibility. Efforts to identify, foster, and develop Party members among pupils and students have likewise achieved many positive results.
The Dong Nai Department of Education and Training has established the "Dong Nai Education Information" fanpage, which has more than 164,000 followers and has been verified with a blue check mark by Meta. Together with thousands of communication channels operated by educational institutions, it has formed an extensive communication network across the education and training sector. These communication channels provide official information on the Party's guidelines and orientations, the State's policies and laws; promote examples of good people and good deeds; and highlight outstanding students in learning and training. This approach has helped guide public opinion, reduce the impact of misinformation, and strengthen students' ability to identify and resist distorted and subversive arguments in cyberspace.
These approaches have laid an important foundation for building political mettle, fostering revolutionary ideals, and reinforcing the younger generation's trust in the Party and the State.
