According to the Dong Nai City People's Committee, thrift practice and anti-wastefulness were implemented comprehensively across multiple sectors during the first half of 2026, contributing to improving management efficiency and the effective use of the state budget, public assets, and development resources.
In managing the budget, the city authorities saved 10% of regular spending, excluding salaries and salary-related payments, at the budget estimation stage, with total retained funds of nearly VND 757 billion, including VND 283 billion saved at the provincial level and nearly VND 474 billion at the commune level. In addition, agencies and units proactively reviewed expenditures and returned approximately VND 90 billion to the state budget from funds that were no longer required.
In construction investment, the city reviewed and submitted the final accounts of 72 projects for approval, resulting in savings of approximately VND 4 billion. Regarding public assets, following the reorganization of administrative units, Dong Nai transferred or liquidated numerous vehicles and reallocated 306 surplus state-owned buildings and land facilities.
Inspection and oversight activities were further strengthened. During the first half of 2026, the inspection sector conducted 41 administrative inspections, recommended the recovery of more than VND 3.6 billion to the state budget, and imposed administrative fines totaling more than VND 103 million on 14 organizations and individuals.
In the coming period, the City People's Committee will continue to strengthen the management of the state budget and public assets, accelerate the implementation of investment projects, enhance inspection and supervision, and strictly address acts of wastefulness, thereby contributing to the effective use of resources for socio-economic development.
