The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) announced on June 22 that, after nearly three weeks of implementing the 180-day-and-night emulation movement to accelerate the completion of the Long Thanh International Airport project, the construction site now maintains an average of over 7,300 workers directly involved in construction. The number of workers engaged in construction has increased by approximately 4.54% since the movement's beginning on June 1, 2026.

Regarding construction progress, ACV's latest update showed that the total completed work value of Component Project 3 has exceeded VND65.6 trillion, equivalent to nearly 76% of the total value of signed contracts. For major construction packages, the cumulative realized value has surpassed VND56 trillion, equivalent to nearly 68% of the contract value. This figure has increased by 3.35 percentage points compared with the beginning of June 2026, indicating that construction activities have continued to accelerate following the launch of the peak emulation campaign.

ACV added that one of the project's notable recent achievements is in power supply work. On June 9, 2026, ACV, in coordination with Dong Nai Power Company Limited, successfully energized the power connection from the 110kV station to the PWR-ACV power receiving station through six 22kV medium-voltage lines. The successful energization helps ensure power supply conditions for the project's loads, supporting construction, equipment installation, testing, and technical commissioning activities.

Regarding Package 4.8, which includes the construction, equipment installation and design of internal airport roads and technical infrastructure and is one of the project's large and complex construction packages, ACV has strengthened supervision across construction zones, work categories and interfaces with related packages. This group of work items has a broad implementation scope and is directly related to the internal airport traffic system, technical lines, power supply, water supply and drainage systems, viaducts, terminal buildings, and auxiliary works. As such, it plays an important role in ensuring the project's overall coordination. To date, the realized volume value of Package 4.8 has reached nearly VND6.9 trillion, equivalent to nearly 62% of the contract value. The components under this package are being implemented in accordance with the overall coordination plan, with priority given to areas requiring extensive technical connections, internal transport networks, supporting infrastructure, and coordination among contractors.

ACV is closely coordinating with contractors, supervision consultants, and related units to address issues involving construction sites, power and water infrastructure, connecting traffic systems, and handovers between packages in each specific area. Coordination milestones are being managed based on detailed construction plans, actual site conditions, and the requirements for the synchronized operation of the entire project.

In the coming period, the project construction area will enter the peak rainy season, which could affect certain outdoor construction activities, technical infrastructure works, the transportation of materials and equipment, and on-site construction organization. Therefore, ACV and related units have proactively prepared response plans and adjusted construction schedules in line with actual weather conditions. In addition to allocating human resources, equipment, and materials, the units are strengthening occupational safety controls, maintaining continuous construction conditions, and minimizing adverse impacts caused by weather conditions.

Under the Government's requirements, the Long Thanh Airport project must complete construction and commence Phase 1 operations by the end of 2026.
