On June 23, Nguyen Kim Long, Standing Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai City People’s Committee, received a delegation from the French Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City led by French Consul General Etienne Ranaivoson during the delegation’s working visit to Dong Nai City.

During the meeting, Etienne Ranaivoson congratulated Dong Nai on officially becoming a city on April 30, 2026, describing the milestone as a confirmation of Dong Nai’s important position in Vietnam’s economic development. He expressed his desire to further strengthen cooperation between France and Vietnam during his tenure, particularly in the fields of economic, cultural and social development, including partnerships involving Dong Nai.
Speaking at the meeting, Nguyen Kim Long noted that France is one of Dong Nai’s key investment partners. The city currently hosts 20 French-invested projects with total registered capital exceeding US$224 million. He emphasized that Dong Nai highly appreciates the positive and practical contributions made by the French business community to the city’s socio-economic development in recent years.

The Standing Vice Chairman emphasized that Dong Nai attaches great importance to people-to-people exchanges and efforts to strengthen friendship and solidarity between the city's residents and people in other countries. The city currently has nine bilateral friendship associations and one multilateral Vietnam–ASEAN Friendship Association.
Established in 2018, the Vietnam–France Friendship Association aims to enhance friendship, solidarity and mutual understanding between the peoples of Vietnam and France, while serving as a bridge between the people and authorities of Dong Nai and their counterparts in French localities. The association contributes to further strengthening the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Long expressed his confidence that the visit would provide the French Consulate General with a more comprehensive understanding of Dong Nai’s strengths, development potential, investment environment and development orientation.
He hoped the visit would help strengthen cooperation between Dong Nai and French localities, partners and businesses, while helping the city continue to receive support from the French Consulate General in connecting French enterprises with investment opportunities and business operations in Dong Nai.
Long reaffirmed that Dong Nai would continue improving investment environment and providing strong support for foreign investors, including French enterprises, with a view to promoting sustainable, efficient and long-term cooperation.
