Entire Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway to open on May 18

The 16 km section of Component Project 1 of the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway is scheduled to open to traffic at 5:00 p.m. on May 18, 2026. During the initial phase of operation, only cars with fewer than 9 seats will be allowed on the expressway, in accordance with Component Projects 2 and 3. Other types of vehicles are not yet permitted. The temporary speed limit on the route ranges from 60 km/h to 80 km/h.

The current traffic opening is a temporary operating arrangement during the project’s completion phase, intended to meet residents’ travel needs. At present, the main route and traffic safety system have been completed. However, the approach roads to the overpass, collector roads, and several other auxiliary components are still under construction and are being completed according to schedule.

Regarding traffic organization at Km4+443 (Ham Nghi Road) and Km6+154 (Phung Hung Road), which connect residential areas on each side of the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway:

The following is the traffic plan for the overpass area at Km4+443 (Ham Nghi Road): All vehicles traveling from the Thien Binh residential area on Ham Nghi Road toward National Highway 51 must travel on Ham Nghi Road, enter the parallel road on the left side of the overpass, turn left onto the project's collector road, continue on the route for about 0.6 km to Road No. 6 (Tam Phuoc Industrial Park), then turn right to reach National Highway 51. Traffic in the opposite direction will follow a similar traffic plan.

The traffic plan through the overpass area at Km6+154 (Phung Hung Road) is as follows: Vehicles traveling from Trang Bom ward on Phung Hung Road toward National Highway 51 must travel to Km1+600 on Phung Hung Road, turn onto Road No. 3 (Tam Phuoc Industrial Park), go about 1.2 km to Road No. 6 (Tam Phuoc Industrial Park), and then head to National Highway 51.

The Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway's Component Project 1 is 16 km long. With the opening of Component Project 1, the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway’s nearly 54-km main route is now fully open to traffic.
