Dong Nai must create a favorable environment to attract businesses to the city, said Nguyen Kim Long, Member of the Dong Nai City Party Committee’s Standing Board and Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee.  He gave the instruction at the regular second-quarter meeting of the City's Steering Committee for Business Support and Economic Development on the morning of May 28.

The city leader stated that Dong Nai has significant potential and advantages to accelerate the development of economic sectors and the business community. However, shortcomings remain in the management, administration, and support of businesses, as well as in efforts to promote economic development across various sectors. Therefore, a key priority for Dong Nai at present is to create a favorable environment to attract businesses to invest, operate, and make tax and customs declarations in the locality, thereby contributing to overall growth.

Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Kim Long requested that departments, agencies, and members of the Steering Committee closely follow the key tasks of the second quarter to implement and enhance executive efficiency, while accompanying and supporting businesses. Specifically, the Department of Finance was requested to continue adjusting the former provincial plan to align with the Dong Nai City plan, while regularly advising city leaders on measures to improve the business and investment environment. The Department of Industry and Trade was directed to closely monitor market developments to maintain stability and promptly address difficulties and obstacles faced by businesses in the sectors under its management.

Regarding tax and customs administration, relevant agencies were requested to continue reforming administrative procedures to facilitate transactions for citizens and businesses. Efforts should focus on promptly addressing difficulties and obstacles while providing convenient and timely guidance on tax obligations. Authorities must prevent situations in which citizens and businesses encounter cumbersome and time-consuming procedures, as reported in recent cases. The Dong Nai Business Federation and the Dong Nai Young Entrepreneurs Association were urged to further promote their role as a bridge between businesses and local authorities by gathering feedback, aspirations, and emerging challenges faced by the business community so that city leaders can promptly direct and resolve those issues.

During the first nearly five months of the year, Dong Nai's economy maintained its growth momentum. Public investment, import-export activities, and local budget revenue were closely monitored and accelerated by relevant agencies, contributing to positive outcomes. However, developments in the global economic situation continue to have many adverse impacts, particularly for enterprises engaged in production, processing, and manufacturing. To achieve sustainable double-digit economic growth in the coming period, the responsibilities of both the locality and the business community are considerable. The city will continue to improve institutions and create a favorable environment for business development, in line with its position as one of the country's key localities for economic development.
