To be worthy citizens of Dong Nai City

20:44, 27/04/2026

The announcement on April 24 confirmed that the National Assembly had officially passed a resolution establishing Dong Nai city. This milestone has brought a sense of excitement and pride to nearly 4.5 million residents across the province. From this point forward, Dong Nai residents officially become citizens of a city. How to be worthy citizens of Dong Nai City, while actively contributing to the successful realization of the city’s goals and responsibilities, has become a shared determination across all segments of society.

Enhancing the responsibility of cadres and Party members toward local development

I feel extremely happy and proud that Dong Nai has become the country’s seventh city. This is an inevitable step forward, demonstrating that Dong Nai has fully met the socio-economic conditions necessary to rise to a new level and affirm its position both regionally and nationally.  As a cadre and Party member, I am deeply aware of my responsibility toward the locality’s future development. With Dong Nai’s new status, the demands placed on cadres, civil servants and public employees, particularly those in management, will be significantly higher. We clearly recognize that we must strive even harder to ensure Dong Nai develops in a way that is commensurate with major urban centers such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and other developed cities.

Personally, I have identified clear plans for each assigned task, with specific deliverables and concrete measures to ensure work is completed promptly and effectively. In the field of food safety alone, rapid urbanization presents major challenges as residential zones, food services, and supply chains continue to expand. Therefore, the agriculture and environment sector will focus on strengthening management, promoting inter-sectoral coordination for inspection and post-inspection activities, supporting businesses in regulatory compliance, and improving product quality. At the same time, attention will be directed toward developing safe production zones, building standardized agricultural and food supply chains, and connecting them with collective kitchens and food service establishments. These linkages will not only strengthen quality control but also enhance product reputation and value, meeting the increasingly high demands of urban residents.

Ensuring stable employment for workers

With the news that Dong Nai is preparing to become a city, I, along with the entire staff and workforce at Pou Chen Vietnam Enterprise Ltd., feel immense joy. This administrative upgrade not only brings pride in the locality’s elevated status but also opens up numerous new opportunities for enterprises operating here.

From the perspective of a labor-intensive enterprise, we place high expectations on this historic transformation. We hope that once Dong Nai officially assumes city status, the investment and economic environment will develop more strongly, thereby helping to ensure stable employment for workers. We also hope that social welfare policies will receive corresponding investment so that the material and spiritual well-being of residents, including company workers, can continue to improve. We firmly believe that with the shared commitment of both government and businesses, workers will enjoy a more secure and sustainable living and working environment.

MSc.-Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc, Head of Dong Xoai Ward Health Station

Expectations for a breakthrough in grassroots healthcare

As a healthcare worker, I hope that once Dong Nai becomes a city, grassroots healthcare will receive deeper attention, helping to eliminate current gaps and challenges. My aspiration is for the local health station to truly become a trusted destination for residents. To achieve this, I think that it’s necessary to develop commune-level healthcare according to the family doctor model in the coming period, thereby optimizing primary healthcare services for the people.

In Dong Xoai ward, healthcare work has consistently received close guidance from the Ward Party Committee and the People’s Committee, particularly in implementing key tasks. We always uphold the principle of placing people at the center, viewing public healthcare as a crucial priority. The locality is also actively implementing annual health check-ups for residents, especially those who previously had limited access to regular healthcare services.

Promoting eco-tourism development in Dong Nai

Dong Nai’s transition to a city not only marks a major administrative milestone but also opens up broader opportunities for comprehensive local development.  In particular, Dong Nai’s tourism sector must focus on attracting and selecting capable enterprises with long-term vision to invest in eco-tourism. The objective is to ensure tourism develops sustainably and in harmony with nature conservation.

It is essential to develop the local tourism ecosystem in a way that fully reflects its true value - enhancing visitor experiences while simultaneously honoring and preserving biodiversity. In this way, eco-tourism’s value will extend beyond economic benefits, helping raise awareness of environmental protection and sustainable development throughout society.

Additional practical support policies for forest rangers

As Dong Nai becomes a city, the responsibilities of the forest ranger force within the Dong Nai Culture and Nature Reserve will grow even greater. I hope that the State and local authorities will introduce more practical and appropriate support mechanisms and policies so that forest rangers can feel secure in their duties and remain committed to the profession over the long term. Our staff will continue striving, strengthening solidarity, and improving both professional competence and responsibility in order to firmly protect existing forest areas, preserving this precious ‘green lung’ in a manner worthy of Dong Nai’s new status.
