The Dong Nai Steering Committee for Population and Development has issued Document No. 3418/CV-BCD (April 20, 2026), guiding the implementation of a province-wide campaign integrating communication efforts with periodic health check-ups and screening for common diseases among elderly seniors in 2026.

The campaign aims to strengthen communication efforts, helping elderly residents, their families, and the wider community raise awareness of healthcare, proactively prevent diseases, and develop the habit of regular health check-ups. In doing so, it seeks to improve the quality of life and reduce the burden of disease within the community.

The campaign will run from May through October 2026 across all 95 communes and wards in the province. Under the program, elderly seniors aged 60 and above, with priority given to those living alone, suffering from serious illnesses, or unable to access medical facilities, will receive periodic health check-ups and screening for common age-related conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, eye disorders, and musculoskeletal conditions. These screening activities aim to facilitate early detection, effective management, and timely treatment of diseases, to ensure that 76% of the province's elderly population receives at least one periodic health check-up in 2026.

The Steering Committee also noted that health stations lacking sufficient professional capacity may collaborate with qualified medical facilities to carry out screening and check-up services. In addition to services provided at local health stations, mobile outreach check-up programs may be organized in accordance with regulations to ensure that all elderly residents can access healthcare services.
