On April 28, at the 3rd extraordinary session of the 11th-term Provincial People’s Council, delegates voted to approve resolutions on the investment policy for three major projects: the construction of a connecting route from Ma Da Bridge to Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4; an elevated road along National Highway 51 from Vung Tau Intersection to the interchange linking Vo Nguyen Giap Street with the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway; and the extension of the Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien metro line to the provincial administrative center and Long Thanh International Airport under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.

The project to build the connecting route from Ma Da Bridge to Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4 will span approximately 44.5 kilometers and consist of two sections.

The first section, stretching around 13 kilometers from Ma Da Bridge to Ba Hao Junction, where it intersects with Provincial Road 761, will pass through the Dong Nai Nature-Culture Reserve. This section will feature an elevated bridge structure standing 6–8 meters high, with a bridge deck width of 33.5 meters and eight traffic lanes.

The second section, from Ba Hao Junction to Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4, will extend about 31.5 kilometers, including the interchange with Ring Road 4. It will be constructed as a roadway connected to the first section, with a width of 33.5 meters and eight lanes. Supporting structures and traffic safety systems will also be developed along the route.

The project will be implemented in Tri An and Tan An communes of Dong Nai province from 2026 to 2028.

Meanwhile, the elevated road project along National Highway 51 will cover approximately 6.2 kilometers, starting at Le Van Duyet Street in Tran Bien ward and ending at Vo Nguyen Giap Street in Phuoc Tan ward, Dong Nai province.

The project includes the construction of an elevated viaduct spanning more than 4.6 kilometers, designed as a main urban arterial road with a speed limit of 80 km/h and six lanes. It will also involve upgrading and renovating the existing road beneath to ensure four motor vehicle lanes and two mixed-traffic lanes.

In addition, interchanges, intelligent transportation systems, toll collection systems, control centers, and related structures will be built in line with current technical standards, the Road Law, and other relevant regulations.

The project will be carried out in Tran Bien, Long Hung, Phuoc Tan, and Long Binh wards from 2026 to 2029.

The project to extend the Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien metro line to the provincial administrative center and Long Thanh Airport will span approximately 44.6 kilometers and consist of two sections.

The first section, from Suoi Tien Station to the provincial administrative center, will be around 7.4 kilometers long. Meanwhile, the second section, from the administrative center to Long Thanh Airport, will extend roughly 37.2 kilometers.

The project also includes the construction of stations, a depot, and other supporting works along the route.

It will be implemented across several wards and communes, including Bien Hoa, Tran Bien, Long Hung, Phuoc Tan, Tam Phuoc, An Phuoc, Long Thanh, and Nhon Trach in Dong Nai province. The project is expected to be carried out between 2026 and 2030.

The extension of the Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien metro line to the Provincial Administrative Center and Long Thanh Airport is set to become a key transport corridor connecting Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and Long Thanh Airport.

The three projects approved in principle by the Provincial People’s Council have a combined preliminary investment of more than VND110 trillion.

These are strategic transport infrastructure projects for Dong Nai, aimed at strengthening intra-provincial connectivity, boosting links across the Southeast region, and enhancing interregional transport, particularly in serving access to Long Thanh International Airport.
