Previously, Road Management Zone IV conducted inspections, technical checks, and trial operation of the entire ETC system on this expressway. During the initial period of official toll collection, the central control room continuously updated vehicle data passing through toll stations, including license plate numbers, travel distance, and toll fees. Technicians remained on duty at monitoring screens to observe signals from license‑plate recognition cameras, sensors, and transaction‑processing software.
Operations were tightly monitored; ETC lanes functioned smoothly, barriers lifted and lowered in coordination, and vehicles moved continuously without prolonged waiting during the first hour. At toll stations, law enforcement officers were also present to assist drivers. The equipment operated stably, and any issues that arose were promptly handled by staff, preventing traffic congestion.
According to the operational plan, toll collection on the Phan Thiet – Dau Giay Expressway applies a closed tolling system (fees calculated based on the actual distance traveled from entry to exit points). Toll stations are arranged at interchanges along the route, each with separate entry and exit lanes connected directly to the ETC data center.
To serve toll collection, toll stations on the Phan Thiet – Dau Giay Expressway are located at the National Highway 55 interchange (Km27+400), Provincial Road 720 (Km37+800), National Highway 1, Provincial Road 765, National Highway 56, and Ba Bau. In the closed tolling system, vehicles pay based on the distance they actually travel.
According to the approved toll schedule, the Phan Thiet – Dau Giay Expressway applies a minimum rate of VND1,300 per kilometer. Vehicles with fewer than 12 seats, trucks under 2 tons, and public buses traveling the entire route pay VND128,700 per trip; heavy trucks and 40-feet container trucks or larger pay VND518,800 per trip.
The Phan Thiet – Dau Giay Expressway has a total length of approximately 99 kilometers, of which more than 51 kilometers run through Dong Nai province.
