Dong Nai – a bright spot in the country’s development landscape

With its advantageous geo-economic location, increasingly synchronized infrastructure system, attractive investment environment, and abundant human resources, Dong Nai has maintained steady growth momentum for many consecutive years. In particular, in 2025, the province recorded remarkable progress: gross regional domestic product (GRDP) reached nearly 678 trillion VND, up 9.63% compared to 2024. Compared with the Government’s target of 8.5%, the growth rate exceeded the target by 1.13 percentage points, ranking first nationwide in fulfilling the assigned growth targets, seventh nationwide in GRDP growth rate, and leading the Southeast region. GRDP per capita reached more than 150 million VND. Growth across sectors remained strong, with industry and construction expanding by 11.52%, including industrial growth of 10.42%. The service sector grew by 9.39%, while agriculture, forestry, and fisheries increased by 3.22%.

Dong Nai also remains one of the country’s leading provinces in building new-style rural development. So far, 67 out of 72 communes have achieved new-style rural standards, including 25 communes meeting advanced new-style rural criteria and 8 recognized as model new-style rural communes. The province's public finances also reached a significant milestone in 2025 when Dong Nai's state budget revenue surpassed 100 trillion VND for the first time, ranking fourth nationwide and meeting 137% of the Provincial People's Council's target and 145% of the Prime Minister's target.

Pursuing rapid yet sustainable development - where economic progress must go hand in hand with social advancement and equity - has long been a consistent guiding principle of the Provincial Party Organization. Accordingly, alongside promoting production and business activities, the province has placed strong emphasis on socio-cultural development, education, healthcare, and improving people’s living standards. In 2025, the province ranked third out of 34 provinces and cities nationwide in the citizen service index for services to citizens and businesses and placed eighth among 34 provinces and cities in overall public administration reform performance. In addition, the province completed 100% of its building social housing targets. Under the Nationwide Movement to Eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing, the entire political system, businesses, and residents across the province were mobilized to work together to build or repair 2,005 houses, reaching 114.5% of the planned target. During the Lunar New Year (Tet) of the Horse 2026, approximately 458 billion VND was allocated for Tet gifts and financial support for policy beneficiaries and vulnerable groups across the province. Also, sustainable poverty reduction programs and the National Target Programme on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas were implemented promptly and effectively, contributing to improved living standards for residents in remote and border areas.

The achievements of 2025 positioned Dong Nai as a bright spot in the country’s overall development landscape, not only in terms of scale and growth rate but also in increasingly sustainable development quality, reaffirming its role as a dynamic locality making significant contributions to national development.

Building momentum for further breakthroughs

Looking back on 2025, it is clear that the year was filled with challenges. The global and regional context remained complex, while the world economy recovered slowly, and competitive pressures intensified. However, under the close leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, decisive and flexible administration by authorities at all levels, as well as the unity and joint efforts of the people and the business community, Dong Nai proactively adapted, removed “bottlenecks”, mobilized resources, and created favorable conditions for production, business activities and social stability. Long-term, fundamental solutions were implemented in a coordinated manner, linking economic recovery and growth with social welfare and maintaining national defense and security.

Specifically, key national and regional infrastructure projects - notably Long Thanh International Airport and interregional transport networks - are opening up new development space and creating strong momentum for the province’s urbanization, industrialization, and international integration. These achievements have formed a solid foundation, strengthened confidence, and created strong momentum for the province to enter 2026 with greater confidence, resilience, and determination to innovate. It is a determination to continue innovating, to dare to think, dare to act, and dare to take responsibility; a determination to turn opportunities into driving forces and transform challenges into advantages; and a determination to achieve new breakthroughs that are higher and more comprehensive.

Building a strong Party - the decisive factor in all achievements

One of the decisive factors behind Dong Nai’s achievements is Party building and rectification. In 2025, despite heavy workloads related to provincial restructuring and administrative reorganization, the Provincial Party Organization continuously renewed leadership methods, enhanced governance capacity, and strengthened Party organizations at all levels. Party building has been implemented comprehensively across political, ideological, ethical, organizational, and personnel aspects.

The study and application of Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, ethics, and style have been further deepened, linked to exemplary leadership by cadres and Party members, especially heads of agencies. Personnel work has been carried out rigorously, ensuring democracy, openness, and transparency, selecting officials with both integrity and competence, with performance effectiveness and public satisfaction serving as key benchmarks. Party inspection, supervision, and discipline were also strengthened, helping maintain Party discipline and order, prevent ideological and moral degradation as well as manifestations of “self-evolution” and “self-transformation.”

Achievements in Party building and rectification reinforced public trust in the Provincial Party Organization. When Party direction aligns with people’s aspirations, collective strength is mobilized, creating broad social consensus and providing an invaluable resource for implementing major policies and realizing ambitious development goals.

Confidently embarking on a new era of development with strengthened position and capability

As the country enters a new stage of development marked by both opportunities and challenges, Dong Nai is confronted with new demands that call for innovative thinking, new approaches, and stronger political determination. This new era of development is not only about achieving higher growth rates but also about ensuring rapid, comprehensive, and sustainable progress, with people placed at the center, serving as both the subject and driving force of progress.

To achieve this, Dong Nai remains committed to building a clean and strong Party and political system; improving governance and management capacity; promoting administrative reform; digital transformation; and building a government that serves the people and businesses. At the same time, it strongly promotes the role of the people, awakening the aspiration for contribution, the spirit of innovation, and the will for self-reliance and self-improvement of the entire society.

With resilience honed through practical experience, with renewed position and momentum, and with a strong aspiration to rise, there is every basis to believe that under the leadership of the Party and with the unity of the people, Dong Nai will continue to make breakthroughs, achieve rapid and sustainable development, and be worthy of its role as a key growth engine for both the region and the nation.
