According to the first-prize-winning design, the Long Hung Bridge will cross the Dong Nai River at a location characterized by a vast expanse of open water and a vast main span. The terrain on both riverbanks is relatively flat and low-lying. In this open landscape, the use of a cable-stayed bridge with soaring pylons serves as a striking spatial landmark visible from a distance, and is considered a highly appropriate solution. The architectural solution for Long Hung Bridge emphasizes harmony while also pioneering leading, and becomes an intense visual highlight, commensurate with the stature of an 'avenue' connecting two key economic regions. As such, the pylon design inspired by the shape of a ceremonial sword was selected as the optimal option. The sharp, upward-reaching form of the pylons not only creates a striking visual impression and overcomes the monotony of flat terrain, but also conveys decisiveness and strength, qualities associated with a future hub of industry and logistics. Long Hung Bridge is a strategic link connecting Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3 with Dong Nai's key driving axis. With its large cross-section and gateway position, the bridge is set to become the most vital symbol along this inter-regional transport axis. The design concept is based on the image of the “Peacekeeping Sword”: Like two majestic swords rising from the river, they stand as guardians of tranquility and milestones opening the path for a continuous economic pulse between these two leading growth engines.
