Long Hung Ward holds a strategic geographic position as the southeastern gateway to the central area of Dong Nai province. It borders key transport routes, including National Highway 51 and the Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway, and lies near Long Thanh International Airport, offering favorable conditions for both regional and international connectivity. With these advantages, Long Hung is considered a strong area for urban development, commerce, services, and eco-tourism.

Starting with Dong Nai’s first modern retail center

In 1996, Vietnam’s first modern supermarket was launched in Dong Nai province with the opening of Cora Supermarket, now GO! Dong Nai shopping mall, at the Vung Tau crossroads in Long Hung Ward. Since then, the network of supermarkets and shopping malls has steadily expanded across Dong Nai, particularly in Long Hung Ward.

In late January 2026, Central Retail Vietnam and the Dong Nai Food Industry Corporation (DOFICO) officially opened the GO! Dong Nai shopping mall in Long Hung Ward. From its early days as Cora Supermarket, to its development into Big C Dong Nai, and now its transformation into GO! Dong Nai with a new identity and development orientation, the partnership between the two sides has consistently been built on trust, stability, and a shared long-term vision, regardless of changes in business models or brand names.

GO! Dong Nai has undergone significant redevelopment, with a total investment of 252 billion dong, nearly 200 billion of which was allocated to renovations and upgrades to create a more modern, convenient, and customer-friendly retail space. Covering more than 52,000 square meters, the mall consists of a single commercial floor and has been developed as a multifunctional complex integrating shopping, dining, learning, and entertainment.

Olivier Langlet, Chief Executive Officer of Central Retail Vietnam, stated that GO! Dong Nai has officially reopened following its upgrade, offering a more modern, orderly environment and a more convenient shopping experience for customers.

He added that the transformation reflects Central Retail Vietnam’s long-term commitment to raising service standards and making a positive contribution to local socio-economic development.

Phan Huy Toan, Deputy Secretary of the Long Hung Ward Party Committee and Chairman of the Long Hung Ward People’s Committee, emphasized that the upgrade and development of GO! Dong Nai shopping mall promises to offer a more modern, civilized retail space, along with superior amenities and experiences that enhance residents' quality of life. At the same time, the project continues to reaffirm the mall’s position and role in the locality’s socio-economic development, nearly three decades after its presence.

Long Hung Ward will intensify efforts to develop services for urban areas and industrial parks, leveraging regional connectivity via key transport corridors - including expressways, ring roads, and inland waterways - to turn the ward into a key provincial logistics and cargo transit hub.

To a steadily expanding retail landscape

In addition to GO! Dong Nai, Long Hung Ward hosts 21 licensed convenience stores and mini-supermarkets, electronics retail chains, two traditional markets and over 1,300 small grocery shops, providing sufficient supplies of essential goods and food to meet local demand.

Bui Phan Quoc Viet, Deputy General Director of  C.P. Vietnam Corporation in Long Hung Ward, said the company operates 22 CP Fresh Mart and CP Fresh Shop outlets in Dong Nai Province, including several in Long Hung Ward, providing consumers with access to products such as pork, chicken, and poultry eggs.

In addition, according to the Political Report of the Executive Committee of the Long Hung Ward Party Committee for the 2020–2025 term, presented at the First Congress of the Long Hung Ward Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term, trade and service activities in the ward have seen steady growth in recent years, increasingly meeting the needs of both production and daily life. The ward currently has nearly 3,000 enterprises and business establishments operating in trade, services, small-scale industry, handicrafts, and rental housing, helping create jobs for more than 10,000 local workers. Over the past term, total retail sales of goods and consumer services revenue in the ward grew at an average annual rate of 13%.

Minh Chi, a resident of Quarter 5 in Long Hung Ward, said modern retail channels have continued to expand in the area, offering residents more shopping options and access to conveniences such as cashless payment and online ordering.
