On January 9, the National Steering Committee for Anti-Smuggling, Trade Fraud, and Counterfeit Goods (National Steering Committee 389) held a nationwide online conference to review its work in 2025 and deploy key tasks for 2026.
The conference was co-chaired by members of the Party Central Committee, including Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son, Head of the National Steering Committee 389, and Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang.

At the online point of presence in Dong Nai province, Nguyen Kim Long, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 389, chaired the conference. Also in attendance was Vu Ngoc Long, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, and Permanent Deputy Head of the provincial Steering Committee 389.
According to the National Steering Committee 389, in 2025, ministries, sectors, agencies, and localities took proactive and concerted action, stepping up inspection, control, and supervision to prevent, detect, and handle violations. As a result, nationwide authorities detected, seized, and handled more than 123.5 thousand violation cases, down 10% compared to 2024. Total revenue collected for the state budget from enforcement actions exceeded VND 15.3 trillion. Functional forces also initiated criminal proceedings in more than 3.1 thousand cases, involving over 5.4 thousand individuals.

In Dong Nai, the Provincial Steering Committee 389 directed functional forces to synchronously implement professional measures, strengthen inter-agency coordination, proactively maintain a firm grasp of the situation on the ground, and promptly detect, inspect, and strictly handle violations. These efforts have helped stabilize the market and protect the legitimate rights and interests of businesses and consumers.
According to the Provincial Steering Committee 389, in 2025, functional forces across the province detected and handled more than 4.7 thousand cases, including 125 criminal cases.

At the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son urged ministries, sectors, and localities to closely monitor developments and step up professional operations, inspections, and controls in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods. Priority should be given to sectors and commodities prone to violations, such as e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, milk products, and dietary supplements. Furthermore, the Deputy Prime Minister underscored the importance of enhancing public awareness campaigns and issuing warnings about fraudulent tactics. This aims to empower citizens to stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
