On the morning of January 16, at the seaport of the Truong Sa Defense–Economic delegation (Naval Force, Phuoc Thang Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), the Naval Region 2 Command held a send-off ceremony for a working delegation departing to visit and extend Lunar New Year greetings to officers and soldiers stationed on the DK1 offshore platforms, on-duty vessels, and the Party–Government–People’s bodies of the Con Dao special zone on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo 2026.

Colonel Do Hong Duyen, Deputy Political Commissar of the Naval Region 2 Command, affirmed that the DK1 offshore platforms are not only solid strongholds and sacred markers at sea, but also symbols of willpower, patriotism, and the strength of national unity.

With those sacred values, the upcoming working trip by delegates and journalists from newspapers and broadcasters nationwide will serve as strong bonds connecting trust and affection between the rear and the front line, between the mainland and the distant seas and islands—where naval soldiers are working day and night to safeguard the sovereignty of the country’s southern waters.

For the delegates and journalists joining this field trip, the Deputy Political Commissar of Naval Region 2 expressed his hope that they would bring to compatriots and soldiers across the country vivid images and stories about the lives, daily activities, work, and mission performance of officers and soldiers on the DK1 platforms and on-duty vessels on the southern continental shelf of the Fatherland as Tet approaches and spring arrives.

Colonel Do Hong Duyen requested that during their reporting activities, the journalists would strictly comply with the Ministry of National Defense’s regulations on information dissemination regarding the DK1 offshore platforms, as well as safety regulations during living and working activities aboard the ships.

The Regional Command expressed its confidence that, with a high sense of responsibility and warm hearts, the working delegation would carry with them the warmth of the Fatherland and the deep affection of the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, the Naval Force, the Naval Region 2 Command, and people nationwide to all officers, soldiers, and residents on the DK1 offshore platforms and in the Con Dao special zone.
