A warm spring – a loving Tet

In the final days of the year, at industrial parks across Dong Nai, after each work shift, workers are not only happy with stable wages and Tet bonuses but also eager to take part in Tet support activities organized by trade unions at all levels. Among these, the “Tet Reunion” program has been implemented in diverse and widespread forms, bringing excitement to workers. Alongside this are cultural performances and traditional folk games, creating a joyful, connected atmosphere and helping ease homesickness as Tet approaches.

Freewell Viet Nam Co., Ltd., located in Bac Dong Phu Industrial Park, Dong Phu Commune, is one of the companies with a large workforce in Dong Nai. To bring Tet to workers early, the company and its grassroots union recently coordinated a warm and cheerful “Tet Reunion” program. Workers enjoyed special performances and participated in lucky draws for valuable prizes. Notably, the event carried practical significance, as the grassroots union presented 20 gift packages worth 1.5 million dong each. In comparison, the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor distributed 706 packages worth 1 million dong each to disadvantaged union members.

In addition to cultural activities, for the 2026 Lunar New Year, Freewell Viet Nam Co., Ltd. announced Tet bonuses based on seniority, ranging from one to 1.8 months of basic salary, with long-serving employees receiving up to three months. The company also increased basic salaries by 320,000 dong per month. Worker Le Thi Mai shared: “The care shown by the company and the union at year’s end has brought workers a more meaningful spring and greater motivation to work better in the new year.”

The pre-Tet atmosphere was also lively at FTT Vina Co., Ltd. in Binh Loc Ward. The most impressive activities included the union year-end meal, lucky draws, and a fashion contest for workers. Each event brought freshness, attracted extensive participation, and spread positive energy through vibrant competitions after a year of hard work.

Worker Bui Thi Nhu Y said that year-end is always a busy and tiring time, but participating in summary activities and cultural performances, and receiving gifts from the union, made her feel happy and warm. “These activities not only help us relax and bond with colleagues but also show that the company truly cares about workers’ spiritual well-being. Thanks to that, I have more motivation to enter the new year with excitement and confidence in long-term commitment to the company,” she shared.

More confidence and motivation

These days, many workers in Dong Nai have been deeply moved by the timely support from trade unions. Meaningful gifts personally delivered by union officials have brought Tet joy to thousands of workers’ families far from home. Amid year-end financial pressures, union members and workers are encouraged, easing concerns ahead of the new year.

Tran Thi Thu Huong, a wood production worker at Tam Phuoc Industrial Park, shared that her income did not increase this year due to reduced overtime, while living expenses rose sharply, making Tet preparations a source of stress. Recently, she received a Tet gift from the provincial labor federation, which she said arrived at just the right time, easing her worries and helping her family prepare for the holiday.

At Hoang Gia G.M.T Co., Ltd. in Binh Minh Commune, Dong Nai Province, hundreds of workers were excited this Tet not only because of stable orders and increased income, but also because the company announced a Tet bonus equivalent to 1.5 months’ salary per employee, higher than in 2025. Currently, workers are working diligently on production lines to help the company meet its output targets, averaging 550 products per day. In 2026, the company aims to further improve product quality and to grow by around 10 percent compared to 2025.

According to the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor, for Tet 2026, unions at all levels will organize many practical support activities for union members and workers. The focus is the “Tet Reunion” program held in industrial zones, including Tet gift-giving, transportation support for workers returning home, and cultural performances. Diversifying care activities helps workers access social welfare policies more quickly and effectively, adding joy to the holiday.

Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen Duc Thang emphasized that caring for workers is not only about immediate gifts or short-term support, but, more importantly, about ensuring stable jobs, sustainable income, and safe working environments so that workers can feel secure in their long-term commitment to both enterprises and the trade union.

In addition to distributing gifts, provincial labor federation delegations have also visited many companies directly to listen to workers’ concerns and understand their living conditions. Through these on-site visits, unions can adjust support activities to better meet actual needs, ensuring assistance reaches the right people at the right time.

In the context of ongoing difficulties, especially for migrant workers, Tet care efforts demonstrate trade unions' responsibility and companionship, ensuring no one is left behind in the new spring. Each Tet gift carries not only material value but also helps ease hardship, allowing workers to enjoy a fuller and warmer traditional Tet. This care is also a source of motivation, assisting workers to feel confident, secure, and more attached to their workplaces and local communities.
