Reviewing implementation progress of two tourism projects in the Chua Chan Mountain area and Tan Phu Protection Forest

On the morning of December 12, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee Le Truong Son chaired a working session with departments, sectors and localities to hear reports on the progress and results of implementing conclusions related to the Ecotourism, Resort and Entertainment Complex Project at Chua Chan Mountain; the Nui Le Lake Urban Area (Chua Chan Mountain Project, Xuan Loc Commune), and the Ecotourism, Resort and Entertainment Investment Project in the forest environment leased from the Tan Phu Protection Forest Management Board (Tan Phu Protection Forest Project, Dinh Quan Commune).

Reporting on the progress of the Chua Chan Mountain Project – Nui Le Lake Urban Area, Vu Xuan Truong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that thanks to the attention of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People’s Council, the Provincial People’s Committee, as well as relevant departments, sectors and localities, the project’s progress has been accelerated. The project is currently undertaking procedures for environmental impact assessment and construction licensing, and completing the required investment procedures. It is expected to break ground in the first quarter of 2026.

In addition, in accordance with directives from Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Truong Son regarding the project, the following tasks are being implemented by the assigned agencies: identifying the lead agency responsible for preparing the project’s environmental impact assessment report; establishing a forest management and protection model for Chua Chan Mountain; liquidating planted forests within the project area; and gathering community feedback on the 1/500-scale detailed construction planning for the summit area of Chua Chan Mountain and the Nui Le Lake Urban Area, along with several other related matters. These tasks are currently being carried out by departments, sectors, and localities in accordance with the approved schedule.

Regarding the tourism project at the Tan Phu Protection Forest, to date, the adjustment and supplementation of the Ecotourism, Resort and Entertainment Scheme for the 2021–2030 period at the Tan Phu Protection Forest Management Board, along with issues related to mineral planning in the hot spring pond area, the review of contents concerning the formulation of a public asset use scheme, relocation support, and procedures for leasing the forest environment, are being implemented by departments, sectors and localities to accelerate progress.

In his concluding remarks at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Truong Son highly commended the efforts of Xuan Loc Commune in carrying out the procedures for the Chua Chan Mountain Project, ensuring the best possible preparation to meet the projected groundbreaking timeline in early 2026. According to the Vice Chairman, this is a significant project that will elevate Dong Nai’s tourism sector; therefore, greater efforts are needed to avoid minor obstacles that could affect progress and prolong implementation.

Regarding the tourism project at the Tan Phu Protection Forest, the Vice Chairman requested that the Tan Phu Protection Forest Management Board coordinate with relevant departments and sectors to continue implementing procedures in accordance with regulations. He also instructed departments and sectors to pay close attention to the planning of the hot spring pond area, which contains a rare and valuable hot mineral water source that has yet to be utilized appropriately. The Vice Chairman assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to proactively prepare procedures for seeking approval to develop an international-class hot mineral spring area, to be incorporated into the provincial planning adjustment.
