Provincial Party Secretary Vu Hong Van visits and extends Christmas greetings at the Xuan Loc Bishopric

On December 19, a working delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, the People’s Council, the People’s Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai Province, led by Comrade Vu Hong Van, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, paid a visit and extended Christmas 2025 greetings at the Xuan Loc Bishopric (Long Khanh Ward).

Joining the delegation were: Nguyen Kim Long, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Major General Nguyen Duc Hai, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Director of the Provincial Police; Ho Van Nam, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Tran Bien Ward; Senior Colonel Bui Dang Ninh, Provincial Party Committee member and Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command; Le Thi Thai, Provincial Party Committee member and Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization; Luu Thi Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, along with leaders of provincial departments and agencies.

Receiving the provincial delegation were Do Van Ngan, Bishop of the Diocese of Xuan Loc; Nguyen Tuan Anh, Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Xuan Loc; Nguyen Chu Trinh, former Bishop of the Diocese of Xuan Loc and Director of the Our Lady of Nui Cui Pilgrimage Center; and Priest Nguyen Ngoc Phuong, Director of Saint Joseph Major Seminary of Xuan Loc, together with dignitaries, religious officials, and outstanding Catholic representatives.

On behalf of provincial leadership, Comrade Vu Hong Van extended Christmas 2025 greetings and New Year 2026 wishes to all religious dignitaries, officials, religious practitioners, and Catholic compatriots across Dong Nai Province.

According to Comrade Vu Hong Van, 2025 is a year of special significance, marked by many major events of the country and the province. Dong Nai Province has recorded an important historical milestone in the consolidation and establishment of a streamlined, effective, and efficient two-tier local government model. The 1st Dong Nai Provincial Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term was successfully held, serving as an important and solid foundation for effectively implementing objectives and tasks for the 2025–2030 period, striving for Dong Nai Province to basically meet the criteria of a centrally governed city by 2030.

With a spirit of solidarity, effort, and high determination from all levels, sectors, localities, and the people, Dong Nai Province has achieved many positive results across various fields: stable economic growth; harmonious socio-cultural development; national defense and security, as well as social order and safety, maintained; freedom of belief and religion respected and ensured; and the great national unity bloc consolidated and expanded. These achievements include the active, responsible, and meaningful contributions of dignitaries, religious officials, clergy, and Catholic compatriots of the province.

According to Comrade Vu Hong Van, the upcoming year 2026 will be marked by many special events, including the 14th National Congress of the Party and the elections of deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term. Sharing in the joy of Christmas and welcoming the New Year 2026, the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee expressed confidence that dignitaries, religious officials, and Catholic compatriots would continue to uphold the spirit of “Respecting God and loving the nation”, “Living the Gospel in the heart of the nation to serve the happiness of the people”, spreading the spirit of “Synodality – Sharing – Service”, actively participating in patriotic emulation movements and campaigns, thereby contributing to building Dong Nai Province to be green, prosperous, beautiful, civilized, and modern.

On behalf of dignitaries, religious officials, and Catholic compatriots of Dong Nai Province, Bishop Do Van Ngan expressed gratitude for the attention of the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, while also expressing his delight at the socio-economic development and national defense and security achievements of the country and the province. In particular, the Catholics in Dong Nai were pleased that, together with the whole country, Dong Nai Province had completed the restructuring and effective operation of the two-tier local government model; the province had made significant progress in implementing key national projects; and the economy had recorded high growth. In the coming period, bishops, priests, and Catholic followers of the diocese will continue to promote the spirit of living a “good life and a lofty religion”, contributing even more to the overall development of the country and the province.
