Dong Nai shares experience at Techfest Vietnam 2025’s innovation seminar

On December 12 in Hanoi, as part of the series of events of the National Innovation and Startup Festival (Techfest Vietnam) 2025, a seminar on policies for local economic development through innovative startup activities was held.

At the seminar, representatives from the Departments of Science and Technology of localities such as Quang Ninh, Lam Dong, Can Tho, Khanh Hoa, and others presented papers highlighting successful experiences drawn from local support policies in promoting innovative startups; building startup and innovation ecosystems as part of an effective local economic development roadmap; and policies supporting innovative startup activities…

At the seminar, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Provincial Department of Science and Technology - Vo Hoang Khai delivered a presentation titled “The role of the state in shaping the innovation ecosystem: implemented policies and the tangible results achieved by Dong Nai.”

 Accordingly, in recent years, Dong Nai Province has introduced and synchronously implemented numerous strategic policies and solutions aimed at building an innovation ecosystem. The province has prioritized science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as breakthrough tasks in its local development agenda. Dong Nai has established and effectively operated the Provincial Science and Technology Development Fund, while organizing events and activities to foster connectivity, promote exchange, commercialization, and fundraising for startups, most notably Techfest Dong Nai 2025 under the theme “Innovation Runway - Dong Nai Takes Off.”

In addition, the province has focused on planning and investing in innovation, high-tech, and digital transformation infrastructure, as well as training, capacity building, and the development of human resources for innovation.

Regarding the achievements in innovation, according to Vo Hoang Khai, Dong Nai Province has made significant improvements in the Provincial Innovation Index (PII). In 2025, based on the assessment of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Dong Nai recorded a PII score of 44.92, ranking 12th out of 34 provinces and cities nationwide. The province’s community of innovative enterprises and startups has become increasingly diverse and dynamic, while linkages among the government, educational institutions, businesses, and investors have been established and expanded.
