On the morning of November 8, at Tri An Commune, the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Sports Authority of Vietnam and the Vietnam Canoeing, Rowing and Sailing Federation, held the opening ceremony of the 2025 National Sailing Championship.

Delivering his opening speech, Vu Thanh Ngu, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated that the National Sailing Championship 2025 provides an opportunity for athletes to compete, exchange experiences, and enhance their professional skills. The event also serves as a key platform to select outstanding athletes for upcoming international competitions. In addition, the championship provides an opportunity for Dong Nai Province to showcase its socio-economic achievements, tourism potential, and the hospitality and friendliness of its people.

The 2025 National Sailing Championship is held from November 6 to 9 on Tri An Lake, Tri An Commune. The event was scheduled earlier than planned due to concerns that Typhoon Kalmaegi might affect the competition. The tournament attracts eight teams from provinces and cities across the country, including Public Security, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Thai Nguyen, Ha Tinh, Quang Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, and the host Dong Nai, with nearly 100 athletes joining the competition.

Athletes from the participating teams are competing in 10 categories for men, women, and mixed pairs, including: Five categories for male athletes: Optimist, Laser 7 (ILCA 7), Laser 6 (ILCA 6), Laser 4 (ILCA 4), and 470; and 4 categories for female athletes: Optimist, Laser 6 (ILCA 6), Laser 4 (ILCA 4), and 470; and one mixed event: 470.
