Dong Nai establishes the Steering Committee for social housing development

Vo Tan Duc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, recently signed Decision No. 1549/QD-UBND to establish a Steering Committee for social housing development and housing support policies for policy beneficiaries within the province.

According to the decision, the Steering Committee will be led by Vo Tan Duc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee. Ho Van Ha, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, will serve as the Vice Head of the Committee.

Members of the Steering Committee include leaders of various departments and agencies, namely the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province; the Provincial Military Command; the Provincial Police Department; the Office of the Provincial People’s Committee; the Department of Finance; the Department of Construction; the Department of Agriculture and Environment; the Department of Home Affairs; the Dong Nai Economic and Industrial Zones Authority; the Provincial Labor Federation; the Provincial Land Development Center; the Dong Nai branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies; and Dong Nai Newspapers and Radio, Television. The Department of Construction serves as the standing agency of the Steering Committee.

The Steering Committee is tasked with directing the implementation and fulfillment of social housing development targets in Dong Nai province, in accordance with Decision No. 338/QD-TTg dated April 3, 2023, issued by the Prime Minister, approving the Scheme on "Investment in the construction of at least one million social housing units for low-income earners and industrial zone workers for the 2021-2030 period"; and Decision No. 444/QD-TTg dated February 27, 2025, by the Prime Minister, assigning annual social housing completion targets for 2025 and the subsequent years through 2030, to be integrated into local socio-economic development plans.

In parallel, the Steering Committee is also responsible for studying, directing, coordinating, and implementing housing support policies for policy beneficiaries in Dong Nai province. At the same time, it shall coordinate efforts to address existing obstacles or propose that competent authorities resolve issues related to the development of social housing and the implementation of housing support policies for policy beneficiaries within the province.
