Phu Rieng 110kV substation and connecting branch line officially put into operation

On the evening of September 14, Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) directed the Southern Power Project Management Board and Dong Nai Power Company to coordinate with related units and contractors to energize and complete the Phu Rieng 110kV substation project and its connecting branch line.

The 110kV substation project is designed as a semi-outdoor facility with a voltage of 110/22kV. It consists of two transformers, each with a capacity of 40MVA. In Phase 1, the substation was installed with one transformer. The branch line is designed as a 110kV transmission line with 2 circuits, with a transition tower for the 110kV Phuoc Long - Vedan 2 transmission line, located in Phu Rieng commune, Dong Nai province.

The investment project for Phu Rieng 110kV substation and the connecting branch line has a total investment capital of more than 88 billion VND, funded by EVNSPC.

Once operational, the project will meet the electricity supply needs of 4 communes: Phu Rieng, Phu Trung, Binh Tan, Long Ha, and surrounding areas. At the same time, it will provide backup support for both Phuoc Long and Dong Xoai 110kV substations in case of incidents. This contributes to improving voltage quality, reducing capacity and energy losses on the regional distribution grid.

The project was successfully energized at 20:30 on the evening of September 14. The safe operation of Phu Rieng 110kV substation will help attract investors and enterprises to the northern Dong Nai area, while ensuring safe, stable, and continuous power supply for production, business, and daily activities of residents and enterprises.
