In response to the Action Month for the Elderly and to celebrate the 34th anniversary of International Day of Older Persons (October 1, 1991- 2025), on the morning of September 6 in Song Ray commune, the Dong Nai Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Federation jointly organized the Journey for the Health of the Elderly in 2025.

Speaking at the program, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Youth Union Nguyen Minh Kien emphasized: “The elderly are a valuable asset of the nation, an important force of the country, and the cornerstone of families and society.” Therefore, in recent years, the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Federation have coordinated to organize numerous practical activities aimed at caring for and enhancing the spiritual life and health of elderly seniors. Activities such as medical check-ups, free medicine distribution, visits, and gift-giving have been consistently maintained, contributing to encouraging elderly residents to live happily and healthily while serving as a source of spiritual support for their children and grandchildren.

In anticipation of the 2025 International Day of Older Persons, the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Federation are continuing to work with relevant units to organize the 2025 Journey for the Health of the Elderly, featuring a range of practical and meaningful activities. Highlights included medical check-ups, free medicine distribution, and gift-giving for 200 disadvantaged elderly residents in Song Ray commune, as well as free haircuts for seniors, residents in the locality, and children. On this occasion, the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Federation also mobilized resources to donate 30 bicycles and school backpacks to underprivileged students ahead of the new academic year.

According to Provincial Youth Union Secretary Nguyen Minh Kien, beyond the Journey for the Health of the Elderly, in the time ahead, Dong Nai youth, guided by a spirit of volunteerism and dedication, will continue to work alongside Party committees, local authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and grassroots Elderly Associations to expand care and support activities for senior citizens. The initiative aims to ensure that all elderly residents have the opportunity to live happily, healthily, and meaningfully, while continuing to pass down their valuable values and life experiences to future generations.
