The development of Party membership among students not only contributes to rejuvenating the pool of Party members but also adds intellectual resources to the Party, helping enhance its leadership, governance capacity, and fighting strength.

As the Party’s trusted reserve force, Youth Union organizations at all levels have always focused on training and creating a pool of outstanding student members to recommend for Party admission.

Inspiring students to strive for Party membership

Since grade 11, Nguyen Thien Khanh Van (now a student of class 12XH1, Bu Dang High School, Bu Dang Commune, Dong Nai Province) has been able to attend a Party awareness class.

Khanh Van said: Both my parents are teachers, so they have guided me from an early age to strive to join the Party. Since grade 10, I have been encouraged by my teachers, especially the school Youth Union Secretary, to study hard and take part in activities to become a Party member. With early guidance from my parents and teachers, I have always tried my best to maintain my record of being an excellent student  for many years.

Alongside her academic excellence, Khanh Van also actively participated in Youth Union activities. To have more opportunities to contribute to these extracurricular activities, since grade 11, she has joined the school Youth Union Executive Committee.

In addition to providing early guidance, Youth Union organizations in Dong Nai have strengthened activities on educating revolutionary ideals to motivate students to strive for Party membership. Among them, the Red Seeds Journey has been organized by the Provincial Youth Union for many years.

Nguyen Van Anh Quan, a student of class 12A6, Tan Phu High School (Dinh Quan Commune, Dong Nai Province), said: “The journey not only helped me learn about traditions and history but also gave me a chance to exchange experiences on striving to become a Party member. That’s why, even though I had to travel two long legs of the trip, I felt very happy to participate in it. During the journey, I learned more about the Dong Xoai Victory Historic Site and the Binh Phuoc Cultural Exhibition Space under the Dong Nai Provincial Museum (Binh Phuoc Ward).”

More than three months ago, the Dong Nai Students’ Association organized the “Following in the Footsteps of Heroes” Journey. According to Phan Le Duy, a student at Dong Nai University of Technology, the journey covered many places, but the most impressive for him was visiting and experiencing the tunnels at the Cu Chi Historical Site.

“The tunnels are narrow, lacking air and light, yet this was where revolutionary cadres, soldiers, and local people lived and fought during the fierce years of resistance wars. After the experience, I felt great admiration, and their stories gave me more motivation to study and make contribution,” Duy shared.

More environments for students to train themselves and grow

Nguyen Minh Kien, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, and Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, said: “The best environment for students to train is through the Youth Union’s revolutionary action movements. Recently, Youth Union organizations at all levels, especially those at universities, colleges, and high schools, have organized many activities for students to participate in.”

Vu Hoang Gia Huy (student of class 12C6, Le Hong Phong High School, Long Binh Ward) shared: “Since joining the Youth Union, I have had the opportunity to participate in many activities organized by the school Youth Union and higher-level organizations, especially community volunteer activities.”

According to Gia Huy, through joining volunteer activities, he not only gained social knowledge, soft skills, and expanded social relationships but also matured in both awareness and action, living more responsibly with himself, his family, and society, thereby contributing to building a better community.

Understanding the benefits of volunteer activities, despite being a freshman, Phan Ho Phuong Nhi (Faculty of Finance – Accounting, Lac Hong University) registered to join the Green Summer Volunteer Campaign in Tan An Commune (Dong Nai Province). During the campaign, she helped local people with administrative procedures at the Tan An Public Administration Service Center; promoted disease prevention; cleaned the environment; and repainted playground equipment at a kindergarten.

After the merger of both former Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces, the new Dong Nai Province now has more than 400,000 young people directly under the management of the Provincial Youth Union, among whom students make up the largest proportion at over 37%.

“This activity gave me new relationships, allowed me to learn from senior students, and especially helped me step out of my comfort zone to try a new environment,” Phuong Nhi said.

According to Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Nguyen Minh Kien, after the merger, Dong Nai’s area has expanded, including border areas and ethnic minority communities. All groups of young people need a core political force to guide them. Therefore, recommending outstanding student members for Party admission has become increasingly important. In Dong Nai, introducing excellent students for Party consideration has been a remarkable highlight. In the coming time, the Provincial Youth Union will continue to promote such highlight, while also building distinctive movements and environments for young people to train themselves, serving as a foundation to select good individuals to recommend to the Party.
