Sowing seeds of happiness and lighting up hope
After the merger of former Dong Nai province and former Binh Phuoc province, the humanitarian and charitable activities of the Red Cross Society of Dong Nai province have shown many positive changes, with various practical programs dedicated to children in remote and border areas.
On July 22, 2025, the Red Cross Society of Dong Nai province, in collaboration with Economic-Defence Unit 778, organized a program to donate nutritional milk to disadvantaged students in Dak O commune, Dong Nai province. In the program, the provincial Red Cross Society presented 80 boxes of milk and 97 lanterns with a total budget of more than 38 million VND. The funding was mobilized by the society from TH true MILK Joint Stock Company.
At the same time, many volunteer groups in the province have also actively supported children in difficult circumstances. The Bien Hoa volunteer group, represented by Nguyen Van Quy, has repeatedly called on the community to join hands in helping children. Most recently, the group mobilized over 1,000 winter coats for children in Tuyen Quang province, bringing warmth to disadvantaged areas. The group aims to raise 1,500 coats and will deliver them directly to local residents.
Not only caring for children in highland areas, local volunteer activities have also spread love to disadvantaged circumstances. On September 6, the Youth Union of Long Binh ward (Dong Nai province) organized a visit and presented gifts at the Orphanage Center of Ha Noi parish (Long Binh ward). Though simple, the gifts carried great affection, sharing, and responsibility of local youth, contributing to giving children more resilience in life. Representatives of the ward Youth Union expressed gratitude to benefactors, union members, and young people who supported and joined hands in this meaningful activity.
Small acts today, from a box of milk and a warm coat to a lantern for the Mid-Autumn Festival, are sowing seeds of happiness and lighting up hope for children in highland and border areas, as well as for those with special circumstances. In addition, the provincial Red Cross Society and volunteer groups are also stepping up support for people with disabilities, poor households, and disadvantaged families, contributing to spreading the spirit of “the healthy leaves protect the torn ones” to the community.
Accompanying, spreading kindness
Vice Chairwoman of the Red Cross Society of Dong Nai province Nguyen Thi Hang Nga said: In recent times, the society has always strived to connect compassionate hearts and bring love to students in remote areas and ethnic minorities living in difficult border regions. The activities not only support students in going to school in the new academic year but also contribute to organizing healthy playgrounds and preparing for the Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration 2025.
In the coming time, the Red Cross Society of Dong Nai province will coordinate with the Social Charity Red Cross Branch of Long Thanh commune to implement a meaningful volunteer program in Bu Gia Map commune, a border area still facing many difficulties. The program will focus on presenting Mid-Autumn Festival gifts, nutritional milk, and school supplies to disadvantaged students, as well as providing essential gifts to families in special hardship.
Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Long Binh ward Nguyen Kim Huy shared: Youth Union members and young people always accompany and contribute to spreading the spirit of sharing within the community.
“We hope that each gift, even small, will bring more faith and hope to students, helping them have a fulfilling Mid-Autumn Festival and enter the new school year with motivation” - Huy said.
On the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration, the Youth Union of Long Binh ward will coordinate to organize “Joyful Mid-Autumn Festival 2025” programs, presenting mooncakes, lanterns, and scholarships to excellent students and those in difficult circumstances in Long Binh ward.
The practical and meaningful activities of young volunteer groups in Dong Nai in recent times have encouraged the learning spirit of many disadvantaged students, helping them gain more strength to excel in study and training, becoming good children and students who contribute to the cause of national construction and defence.

These volunteer programs not only provide material value but also spread spiritual values. From small gifts, love has been connecting the community, ensuring that children in remote and highland areas are not left behind in their journey of learning and growing up.
