Over VND 64.6 trillion needed for regional connectivity transport projects and Long Thanh airport

According to the Dong Nai Department of Construction, in a bid to strengthen connectivity between the Southeast and Southwest regions, especially linking Ho Chi Minh City with Long Thanh International Airport, Dong Nai Province requires more than VND 64.6 trillion in capital to participate in transport infrastructure projects.

At present, Dong Nai is working with neighboring provinces to launch a series of regional connectivity transport projects. These include the construction of road bridges namely Cat Lai, Dong Nai 2, Hieu Liem, Thanh Hoi, Xom La, Tan An and Tan Hien, all of which will improve access to Ho Chi Minh City, as well as the Ma Da Bridge and its connecting road to Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4. The province’s budgetary contribution to these projects exceeds VND 24 trillion.

In order to implement regional connectivity transport projects, the provincial budget is also expected to co-finance several other projects. These include: covering 50% of land clearance costs for the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway (over VND 3 trillion); 50% of total investment in Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3 (nearly VND 2 trillion); the state’s financing share for Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4 (over VND 14 trillion); the provincial share for the Ho Chi Minh City–Thu Dau Mot–Chon Thanh Expressway (around VND 474 billion); the provincial share for the Gia Nghia–Chon Thanh Expressway (over VND 1.2 trillion); upgrading and widening National Highway 14 on the Dong Xoai–Chon Thanh section (over VND 1.4 trillion); upgrading and widening Provincial Road 753 (VND 247 billion).

At the same time, to strengthen the connectivity between localities in the province and Long Thanh Airport, Dong Nai Province is also implementing projects to upgrade, expand, and construct provincial roads 769, 773, and 770B, with a total investment of approximately VND 18 trillion.

Dong Nai Province has asked the central government to provide more than VND 22 trillion to facilitate its continuous investment in the construction and upgrading of key transportation projects. Specifically, the funding request includes over VND 1.3 trillion for the repair of national highways traversing the province, more than VND 9.3 trillion for the Cat Lai Bridge Project, and around VND 11.3 trillion for the Ma Da Bridge Project, including the connecting road to Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4.
