The Dong Nai Provincial Youth Union has set a target for every ward- and commune-level Youth Union, as well as each Youth Union in universities and colleges across the province, to produce at least one video clip on a historical story. The aim is to effectively implement the project of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to preserve and promote historical stories (referred to as ‘the project), thereby serving the education on revolutionary traditions for the younger generation.

Under the plan, local ward, commune, university and college Youth Unions will coordinate with the Veterans’ Association and other relevant organisations to identify and compile a list of historical witnesses, including revolutionary veterans, heroic Vietnamese mothers, Heroes of the people’s armed forces, war veterans, former volunteer youth, and wounded and sick soldiers.
Based on this, volunteer youth groups will visit, meet and record the stories of these witnesses, who once lived through times of hardship and sacrifice. Activities may also include “back-to-the-roots” trips, bringing young members, students and historical witnesses to memorial sites, historical relics and museums to film their testimonies. Upon completion, the video clips are to be submitted to the Provincial Youth Union in three rounds: the first by September 30, 2025, the second by December 30, 2025, and the third by March 1, 2026.
The Provincial Youth Union has also encouraged units to expand activities “Den on dap nghia” (Paying debts of gratitude) and “Uong nuoc nho nguon” (when drinking water, remember its source), such as visiting and presenting gifts to policy beneficiary families, cleaning up memorial sites and martyrs’ cemeteries, as well as collecting and digitizing historical documents.

Alongside the production of video clips, Youth Union branches at all levels are to promote the project’s significance, and launch movements encouraging the creation of video clips and written works under the theme “Stories of a fierce, yet glorious time”, highlighting gratitude and praising examples of sacrifice and devotion for the Fatherland in Dong Nai. Young people are encouraged to re-enact historical stories through creative forms.
The Youth Union branches at all levels, Association and Team branches are also tasked with maintaining regular activities dedicated to historical topics, inviting witnesses to share stories with young people, and holding discussions and forums on local revolutionary traditions. Coordination with cultural and educational authorities is encouraged to establish small-scale exhibitions showcasing artefacts, images and historical memories at suitable venues.
The Provincial Youth Union requests local ward, commune, university and college Youth Unions to base on its plan and orientation to develop their own plans that are suitable for local conditions.”
