The surge was driven by a series of events marking the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2025), such as the 2025 Dong Nai Pottery and Hot Air Balloon Festival, artistic performances, historical celebrations, and culinary showcases. Son Tien, Buu Long, and Suoi Mo saw significant surge in tourist numbers.
Son Tien alone attracted around 80,000 visitors during the holiday. Meanwhile, Buu Long tourist area hosted a traditional cake festival and aired a live broadcast of the national parade on a giant LED screen. Notably, the hot air balloon festival was officially recognized as the largest of its kind in Vietnam.
Local authorities ensured public safety and order throughout the celebrations, helping Dong Nai emerge as an increasingly attractive destination for both domestic and international travelers.
