20,000 social housing units to be built in Dong Nai

(ĐN)- On May 6, Chairman Vo Tan Duc of Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee had a working session with representatives from Nam Long Apartment Development Co., a subsidiary of Nam Long Group, on building social houses in the locality.

In line with the Government's policy to built one million social housing units, Nam Long group has registered to implement 60,000 units by 2030, including 20,000 units in Dong Nai's Nhon Trach district and Bien Hoa city.

The group also put forward a plan to mobilize capital from businesses and the wider society for social housing development. Additional suggestions included policies and incentives for investors, state authorities, and homebuyers to stimulate private sector participation.

At the meeting, Chairman Vo Tan Duc noted that the Prime Minister had assigned Dong Nai a target of 22,500 social housing units for the 2021–2030 period. However, the province has set more ambitious goals of 10,000 units by 2025 and 50,000 units by 2030.

Provincial authorities encouraged all economic sectors to closely coordinate with local relevant departments to develop housing to ensure accommodation for all people through market mechanisms, contribute to political stability, ensures social security, and develops civilised and modern urban and rural areas.
