Compared to June, the number of Australian arrivals to Vietnam in July witnessed an increase of about 8,200, but fell by nearly 10,000 from the same month in 2019.
The three leading destination countries that Australian residents returned from were New Zealand (96,180 trips), Indonesia (86,160) and the UK (66,480).
The number of departures from Australia in July was estimated at 968,490, a monthly increase of 87,630 trips, but down 58.8% as compared to July 2019 before they broke out with COVID-19.
The median duration of trips away was 19 days. The most popular reason for travel was “visiting friends/relatives” (48.2%).
