The places which make an appearance in the new passports include Ha Long Bay, Hue Citadel, Hoi An Ancient Town, My Son Sanctuary, Nha Rong Wharf, Lung Cu Flag Tower, and To Vo Gate on Ly Son Island.
The move aims to promote the image, culture, history, and geography of Vietnam to the wider world.
Moreover, the new passport is designed with several new security features which makes it difficult to forge.
Old passports issued before July 1 are still valid until they reach their expiration date printed on the passport.
