Deputy Director General of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) Nguyen Le Phuc made the statement at a conference held in Hanoi on June 15 to introduce the Google Arts & Culture digital platform to tourism management departments, tourist attractions and training institutions.
Phuc noted that Google Arts & Culture is considered a “digital museum” of humanity with the aim to preserve and promote the unique cultural and artistic values of all countries around the world.
In early 2021, the VNAT coordinated with Google to launch a project titled “Wonders of Vietnam” via the digital platform, with 35 online exhibitions and 1,369 photos on famous tourist attractions, heritage sites, natural landscapes, culture and cuisine.
Pierre Caessa, a representative from Google Arts & Culture, shared that Google Arts & Culture is among the efforts made by Google to support Vietnam in promoting its tourism.
Digitalisation of resources to reach global visitors is one of the important activities to promote tourism, especially during the post-COVID period.
