Phong Nha, Hoi An, and Ninh Binh are listed as most welcoming local destinations by Booking.com |
Phong Nha tops the list of the Most Welcoming Cities in Vietnam after claiming the highest share of votes by destination, followed by Hoi An, Ninh Binh, Sa Pa, and Mai Chau.
The website also notes that Phong Nha, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is home to the world’s largest cave, in addition to Asia’s oldest karst mountains which were formed 400 million years ago.
Booking.com states that Ninh Binh, locally known as ‘Halong Bay on Land,’ is also attractive to tourists due to its magical riverine landscape and sheer limestone mountains which rise up from the rice paddies. Meanwhile, Hoi An, Sa Pa, and Mai Chau all offer travelers the chance to enjoy an immersive cultural experience, largely through its ancient towns and various ethnic villages.
The list of 2021’s Most Welcoming Regions in Vietnam features provinces such as Quang Nam, Lao Cai, Kien Giang, Lam Dong, and Hai Phong.
Furthermore, Booking.com also shows that while hotels remain the most-awarded accommodation type in the nation this year, four out of the five top-awarded accommodation types in the country are unique places to stay, including homestays, apartments, guest house, and villas.
