Located on theHo Chi Minh road close to the border area with Laos and 50km away from Vinh city, the Thanh Chuong tea hills are surrounded by water. Currently, nearly 200 households in the area have planted tea across 400 hectares. Tourists can only access the tea hills in Thanh Chuong by boat Each tea hill has a total area of 1 hectare. Visitors are allowed to visit about 10 tea hills throughout the region The cool climate of between 17 and 28 degree Celsius allows the development of tea cultivation. Tents have been erected throughout the area to serve tourists. A local resident believes the number of tourists to the region has increased in recent years. Most visitors come to enjoy the beautiful landscapes on offer and to take photos. A local farmer in Thanh Chuong says his family’s average income hovers around VND200 million per year Dozens of boats are available to serve tourists. Tickets are sold at VND30,000 each with a single boat accommodating a total of 20 people Early morning is the best time in which to explore the tea hills The clean, pure air and the scent of tea helps visitors to relax. |
