Last year, Dong Nai welcomed more than 2.8 million tourist arrivals, representing 101% of the year’s target, earning total turnover at VND775 billion. The province is now home to 22 establishments operating in tourism sector.
In 2015, the province sets a target of receiving around 2.9 million holidaymakers in 2015, and hopes to earn a revenue of VND850 billion from the sector.
Speaking at the working session, Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Tri, who is also Head of the Steering Committee, stressed that Dong Nai has strength in developing eco-tourism associated with local natural and historic relic sites, adding that the province will prioritize in developing tourism infrastructure along with increase the quality of local tourism human resources in order to attract more visitors to the locality.
He also urged the tourism sector to promptly complete its development plan for sooner deployment to meet the demand of the province’s economic development.
