The pass, about 1,500 meters above sea level, which is higher than Dalat City, can tell a story about the long history of Langbian Highland communications.
The old tunnels and bridges are still there along the pass, reminding road users of a rail link between Dalat and Cham Towers built early in the 20th century by the French in Phan Rang.

Images of the primitive rainforests, immense pine hills and grasslands may flash back in the mind of those having read books by Dr. Alexandre Yersin, a Swiss and naturalized
French physician and bacteriologist, who was credited for finding the site for Dalat.
The pass has abrupt slopes, so tourists need to have driving experience on mountainous terrains. Excursionists will be treated with a splendid view of peaceful Don Duong and Da Nhim hydropower reservoir. Seen from above, Dran looks like a mosaic of gardens, sparse houses and endless greenness of mountains and hills.
