We had a convoy of ten on five motorbikes as we departed at 8 a.m. along the East-West Highway in District 1 heading to Cat Lai Ferry.

After crossing the river, we continued along the road to Bo Cap Vang in Hamlet 3, Ha Phuoc Khanh Commune, Nhon Trach District in Dong Nai.

Our tiredness disappeared when Bo Cap Vang appeared peacefully in an endless green line of coconuts and the coolness of water. At first glance, Bo Cap Vang is just a small piece of countryside encircled by canals, which has since been dammed to better control flooding around the Dong Nai River basin.

After buying tickets at VND40,000 each, without any hesitation we also hired life-jackets at VND10,000 each, as we jumped into the cool water to wash away sweat and the crazy heat.

There was some fun to be had at the site. These include taking a cruise around the canal, jumping from a small wooden platform, swinging on a rope or sliding on water slides as well as synchronized swimming, which we didn’t master very well.

There were small rooms for rent where you could relax in and many dishes were served at the site’s restaurant.

The sun started to go down over the mountain and our skin started to burn.

We came back to HCMC full of joy and laughter after our adventure. It could be called a great weekend, even though it was just a simple way to relax and share many good moments with friends.
