Construction begins on Nguyen Thai Hoc Road Upgrade and Expansion Project in Trang Dai Ward

On September 3, the Trang Dai Ward People’s Committee in Dong Nai City held a groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of the Nguyen Thai Hoc Road Upgrade, Expansion and Drainage System Investment Project.

Nguyen Thai Hoc Road is one of the key traffic arteries in Trang Dai Ward, one of the most populous wards in Dong Nai City. However, after more than 20 years in service, the road has deteriorated and sustained extensive damage. Heavy traffic, combined with the narrow roadway and prolonged deterioration, has significantly affected travel and the daily lives of local residents.

The Nguyen Thai Hoc Road Upgrade, Expansion, and Drainage System Investment Project covers approximately 1.5 kilometers. The project will widen and upgrade the roadway to 9 meters, construct 5-meter-wide sidewalks on both sides, and install a drainage system along the route. The project has a total investment of approximately VND70 billion and is being implemented by the Trang Dai Ward People’s Committee.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of the Trang Dai Ward People’s Committee Le Kim Huong said the Nguyen Thai Hoc Road project would make a practical contribution to the gradual completion of the area’s transport and drainage infrastructure and to improving residents’ quality of life. “The groundbreaking not only marks the launch of an infrastructure project but also represents the first step toward addressing a long-standing concern of residents living along the road,” Huong said.

Construction equipment is deployed for the project.

In recent months, the Trang Dai Ward People’s Committee, together with relevant departments and specialized agencies, has focused on completing the necessary documentation while persistently visiting local neighborhoods and households to listen to residents, explain the project, and encourage their cooperation.

According to Chairman Le Kim Huong, residents’ willingness to move fences, dismantle structures, and make land available for the project represents highly valued community support and has helped the project break ground on schedule. The local authorities have also asked contractors to implement construction in sections, ensuring traffic safety throughout the process. Daily watering must be carried out to reduce dust, while measures must be taken to minimize noise and dust affecting households along the route. The ward aims to accelerate construction, ensure safety, and complete the project as efficiently as possible, with the goal of putting the upgraded road into operation before the 2027 Lunar New Year.
