Accelerating production, raising product quality

These days, factories across Dong Nai City are buzzing with activity as production is being ramped up. Along production lines, workers are maintaining a high level of focus to improve product quality and ensure orders are delivered on schedule.

Many businesses have introduced reward and incentive programs to encourage workers to come up with initiatives and technical improvements during production. These policies provide additional motivation for workers to accelerate production and contribute to achieving their companies' production targets and plans.

Accelerating along every production line

While production competitions were previously viewed mainly in terms of meeting or exceeding output targets, many businesses are now shifting their focus toward improving productivity alongside product quality, reducing defect rates, and saving raw materials and production time. This approach is also in line with the “Skilled Labor – High Productivity – Good Income” emulation campaign for 2026-2031 launched by the Dong Nai City Labor Federation.

At Yuen Foong Yu Paper Enterprise (Dong Nai) Co., Ltd. in Long Thanh Ward, more than 350 workers are engaged in a lively working environment. At the workshops, workers not only follow production procedures but also proactively identify inefficient steps and suggest improvements. From process improvements to the application of new machinery and technologies, all efforts are aimed at making production more efficient.

Huynh Thi Gien, a worker at Yuen Foong Yu Paper Enterprise (Dong Nai) Co., Ltd., said workers across departments were proactively taking greater responsibility and coordinating closely at every stage to ensure orders were delivered on schedule. "The company has many orders, so there is more work for us. Workers in different departments encourage one another to make every effort, follow procedures, and maintain productivity while paying close attention to product quality," Gian said.

The worker emulation movement in Dong Nai emphasizes rapidly adopting science and technology, digital transformation, and green transformation. This spirit is being translated into practical action on production lines. Workers are increasingly mastering new technologies, strengthening their position within businesses, and securing stable incomes.

Do Nguyen Phuong, secretary of the company's Party cell, Chairman of its Trade Union, said the “Skilled Labor – High Productivity – Good Income” campaign launched by higher-level trade unions aims to promote creativity among workers, improve productivity and quality, and raise their incomes. Accordingly, the grassroots Trade Union coordinates with the company to launch the campaign and encourage workers to pay close attention to every production stage and product.

According to Phuong, workers are the people who have the most direct contact with machinery and equipment during production, giving them valuable opportunities to come up with practical initiatives and proposals. The company always creates favorable conditions for workers to put forward their ideas and evaluates and applies suitable initiatives. Each year, the company recognizes numerous worker initiatives and provides timely rewards and appreciation.

Working together to meet production targets

Under the “Skilled Labor – High Productivity – Good Income” campaign for 2026-2031, the Dong Nai City Labor Federation aims to have at least 30,000 initiatives proposed and put into practice each year. The value generated by these initiatives is targeted at a minimum of VND20 billion in 2026 and is expected to increase in subsequent years. The campaign also seeks to improve workers' professional qualifications, vocational skills, and digital skills.

According to Bui Thi Bich Thuy, Deputy Chairwoman of the Dong Nai City Labor Federation, the worker emulation movement has become an important driving force encouraging employees to develop initiatives and improve production techniques. Previously, many workers across the city participated in innovation campaigns and contributed to initiatives that were applied in production, generating tangible benefits for businesses. As workers improve productivity, product quality increases, while businesses can reduce costs and enhance their competitiveness.

At many companies, workers are encouraged to explore new ways of working. In particular, the shift toward digital transformation and automation requires employees to adapt their working methods. Modern machinery can help speed up production, but effective operation still requires workers with the necessary skills, discipline, and sense of responsibility.

Phan Toi Tho Hiep, Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union at TOKIN Electronics (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. in Long Binh Industrial Park, said high productivity alone would not create sustainable value if product quality was not guaranteed. "Therefore, quality-control requirements are incorporated into every stage of production. Workers directly involved in manufacturing are also the first to detect abnormal product defects. A single operation performed correctly can significantly reduce defective products, save costs, and protect the company's reputation with customers," Hiep said.

As requirements for product quality, delivery schedules, and standards continue to rise, workers cannot rely solely on physical labor. They must constantly learn, improve their skills, and adapt to new technologies. Nguyen Van Minh, a worker at Mabuchi Motor Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park, said: "In the past, I mainly focused on completing the required quantity. Now, productivity has to go hand in hand with quality. Working quickly but making mistakes only creates more work later. So everyone tries to get things right from the start."

Behind every quality product is the effort of workers who work day and night tirelessly on production lines. Accelerating production does not mean racing at all costs. It means working in a more scientific, creative, and efficient way. When productivity goes hand in hand with quality, and workers' initiatives translate into tangible value for businesses, a sustainable boost to production can be achieved.
