The 2026 Action Month for Occupational Safety and Health, themed “Innovating management and improving the effectiveness of occupational safety and health in the digital era,” will take place from May 1 to 31. The Provincial Labor Federation requires Trade Unions at all levels to organize activities responding to the Action Month in association with Workers’ Month 2026.

Specifically, Trade Unions of wards, communes, and corporations are required to closely follow the plan, theme, and slogans of the Action Month for Occupational Safety and Health. They will guide grassroots Trade unions to coordinate with employers in organizing communication and awareness activities before, during, and after the Workers’ Month, and in response to the 2026 Action Month for Occupational Safety and Health. These activities may include displaying banners, slogans, and using loudspeaker systems at workshops, production areas, and factory gates, tailored to local and enterprise conditions.

The Trade Unions are encouraged to proactively summarize effective models and best practices during Workers’ Month and the 2026 Action Month for Occupational Safety and Health. The target is for 100% of Trade Unions at all levels in the province to develop implementation plans, and for at least 50% of grassroots Trade Unions to organize at least one activity in response to the Action Month. In addition, the Trade Unions will visit, encourage, and provide support and gifts to trade union members and workers who have suffered occupational accidents, serious illnesses, or are in difficult circumstances.

At the grassroots level, Trade Unions are also encouraged to propose dialogue topics in the workplace and collective negotiation agendas, focusing on working hours, rest periods, and ensuring occupational safety and health. They are to coordinate with employers in developing guidelines on health care, occupational disease prevention, and sharing information related to occupational safety and health with trade union members and workers.

Activities in response to the Action Month for Occupational Safety And Health and Workers' Month 2026 must be effective, practical, focused, and suitable to local production and working conditions. Priority should be given to applying science, technology, and digital transformation in all aspects of occupational safety and health. At the same time, the responsibilities of Trade Unions at all levels, relevant sectors, employers, and employees must be promoted to enhance the effectiveness of preventing occupational accidents and diseases, and improving working conditions.
