Addressing the event, Cong noted that as climate change and environmental pollution become increasingly severe, environmental protection has become an increasingly urgent priority for each nation and each locality.

Against this backdrop, the youth union at all levels across the province have actively and effectively implemented the Green Sunday initiative in recent years. Through these activities, youth union members and young people have helped tackle environmental pollution hotspots, plant and care for trees, promote waste sorting at source, and reduce plastic waste. As a result, the campaigns have not only contributed to environmental protection but also raised public awareness and fostered a more responsible lifestyle within the community.

In the current development phase, the Party and State have consistently emphasized that economic growth must go hand in hand with environmental protection, with green growth, green economy and circular economy serving as key drivers for improving development quality.

Within this framework, the Green Sunday campaign serves as a practical way to help realize the nation’s green development goals. Cong expressed his hope that youth union at all levels and volunteer youth teams would continue to demonstrate their pioneering spirit, proactivity, and creativity in implementing the program. Each Youth Union member and young person, he added, can make a difference through simple, practical actions that inspire wider community engagement and support local and national development.

Following the ceremony, cadres, Youth Union members and young people took part in a series of activities, including exchanging recyclable waste for gifts, planting trees, inaugurating a youth project titled “Bright – Green – Clean – Beautiful Road,” cleaning up the environment, removing illegal advertisements, and encouraging residents to sort household waste.

On this occasion, the DYU and the DYF also coordinated with the Provincial Young Physicians Association and Hanoi–Dong Nai Eye Hospital Co., Ltd. to provide health consultations, general check-ups and eye examinations for local residents.
