Youth Union Members’ Day is an annual nationwide activity held on the occasion of the founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. It aims to expand unity among young people, consolidate and improve the quality of Youth Union organizations, identify and nurture promising individuals, and move toward establishing Youth Union branches in areas with a large number of members but no existing organizations, thereby contributing to building a strong Youth Union system.

Speaking at the event, Phan The Cong, Deputy Secretary of the DYU and Chairman of the DYF, said that this year, the DYU’s Standing Committee and the Secretariat of the DYF had instructed Youth Union units across the province to roll out the 2026 Youth Union Members’ Day in a coordinated manner, with practical activities focusing on the grassroots level. These efforts particularly focus on young workers, youth living in boarding houses and residential areas, and locations where Youth Union organizations have yet to be established.
Cong further noted that as the country enters a new stage of development marked by higher demands for innovation, digital transformation, science and technology advancement, and deeper international integration, young people play an increasingly vital role. Accordingly, he called on Youth Union units at all levels to continue renewing their content and methods of operation, placing the legitimate needs of young people at the center and using practical effectiveness as a key measure. At the same time, they should create favorable conditions for youth to fully realize their potential, resilience and aspiration to contribute.

In addition, greater attention should be paid to young workers, with proactive efforts to understand their situation and provide timely support. The development of new models and effective approaches should be encouraged, while promoting the role of young workers in production, digital transformation, community cultural development and socio-economic development.
At the event, the Standing Committee of Chon Thanh ward Youth Union announced the establishment of a Youth Union branch in the Thanh Tam boarding area and admitted 15 young workers into the Youth Union. The DYU also presented 15 gift packages to worker members and awarded 10 scholarships to disadvantaged children of young workers.
