In 2025, Dong Nai completed over 4,600 social housing units, surpassing the target assigned by the Government. This also means that a corresponding number of individuals and households have moved, are moving or are preparing to move into their new homes.

This result reflects the significant efforts of local authorities and enterprises to help bring a more fulfilling spring season to families facing housing difficulties.

Efforts underway to help residents move into new homes in time for Tet

In the final days of the year, the atmosphere at the An Hung Phat social housing area (Phuoc Tan ward) has become noticeably more vibrant. In addition to the usual sounds of construction machinery, the site has welcomed its first households. Nguyen Minh Hai, Director of An Phat Infrastructure Development Joint Stock Company, the project investor, said the enterprise had shortened the construction schedule as much as possible to hand over apartments to customers by the end of December 2025, enabling them to celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) in their new homes.

“To ensure residents could welcome Tet in their new houses, the whole staff at the construction site worked almost continuously through holidays and Tet over the past year. We determined that progress was not only a requirement of the project and provincial leaders but also the aspiration of households, especially those whose land was acquired for the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway project yet were not eligible for resettlement,” Hai shared.

Tran Thi Thu Huong, one of the residents who has moved into a new apartment, said that at the beginning of 2025, after handing over land to the State for a transport project, her family had to rent accommodation. Every day, she closely followed updates on construction progress and the handover schedule. Now, being able to celebrate Tet in her own home brings her immense joy, as she can reduce rental expenses while enjoying a clean and spacious environment to continue her beauty service work.

Meanwhile, the worker housing area in Bau Xeo Industrial Park, Trang Bom commune, has also welcomed many new residents over the past year. Phan Trong Dat, Head of Investment and Business at Thong Nhat J.S Co., the project investor, said that in 2025 the company signed more than 30 additional contracts. During the same year, it began construction of 75 more apartments, with the project currently completed up to the fifth-floor slab. Besides the units already sold, several apartments remain available, while others are being expedited for completion and are expected to be launched for sale around March 2026 at prices ranging from VND135 million to VND995 million per unit.

Le Thi Kim Thu, a freelance worker who purchased a social housing unit here at the end of 2025, described it as the greatest joy for her family in the days leading up to Tet. As a single mother who had long lived in cramped rental housing with high living costs, she had always hoped for stable accommodation. “Owning my own home before Tet was something I hardly dared to imagine. This Tet will surely be happier and warmer than previous years,” Thu said.

“Dong Nai has a very high demand for housing. The province’s aspiration is not only to fulfill the targets assigned by the Government or those set out in the Provincial Party Committee (PPC)’s Resolution, but also to develop high-quality social housing projects. The ultimate goal is to ensure that every citizen can settle down, gradually replace substandard boarding houses and improve living conditions for workers and laborers.”

Striving to ensure housing for all

In recent times, authorities at all levels, together with project investors, have made efforts to commence and complete numerous social housing projects. This is not merely to meet Government targets but also to guarantee housing security for residents, thereby laying a foundation for the province’s sustainable socio-economic development.

The social housing area in Bao Vinh ward, invested by Thanh Thang Design Consultancy and Construction Co., Ltd., is a typical example. The project comprises more than 1,000 apartments, of which over 50 percent have been completed and put into use. Ha Anh Tan, Deputy General Director of the company, said that investing in social housing for low-income and disadvantaged groups is a highly meaningful and humane activity. It also demonstrates the concerted efforts of the entire political system and the business community in caring for workers’ and laborers’ housing needs. In the coming time, in addition to the current project, the company plans to participate in several other projects to help meet the rising social welfare demands of residents.

According to member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ho Van Ha, from a social perspective, social housing development directly addresses the urgent housing needs of thousands of households, enabling workers to settle down and work long term in the province. From a market perspective, developing mid-range and affordable housing projects helps rebalance the product structure, increase supply in segments suitable for the majority’s purchasing capacity, curb supply–demand mismatches and gradually stabilize the real estate market in a sustainable and transparent manner.

He added that this year the province aims to complete more than 8,000 social housing units, nearly double the figure for 2025. Currently, construction has started on several projects, while many others have seen completion of procedures for commencement. The province will create a stable, transparent, consistent and favorable investment environment for developers to implement and complete their projects. At the same time, it will continue to direct social housing development not merely toward increasing quantity, but with a focus on improving construction quality and living space standards, ensuring residents’ full access to essential services.
