On February 9, Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television, in coordination with the Provincial Study Promotion Association, organized the 127th "Chap canh uoc mo" (Wings of Dreams) scholarship program for Vu Hoang Huyen Anh, a student in class 12B2 at Vo Truong Toan High School in Xuan Dong commune.

Huyen Anh has achieved excellent academic results for 12 consecutive years. She dreams of entering a pedagogical university, standing on the podium, and imparting knowledge of Chemistry. However, before this important exam, Huyen Anh faced the risk of having to drop out of school midway.

The misfortune struck eight years ago when her father died of a brain tumor, leaving behind a large debt that forced Huyen Anh's family to sell their house and seek refuge on her maternal grandparents' land. The burden of the family fell on her mother, who weighed less than 42kg and suffered from multiple illnesses, ranging from diabetes to spinal degeneration. Despite her frail health, Huyen Anh's mother struggled to work for a monthly wage of 8 million VND. This income was barely enough to cover the cost of caring for her elderly mother-in-law and the tuition fees of three children.

At the connection ceremony, Vu Hoang Huyen Anh was awarded a total scholarship of 81.5 million VND. The program organizers announced the following usage plan: a Tet gift worth 1.5 million VND and 80 million VND deposited into a savings account for Huyen Anh to use for her future studies.

Holding the meaningful gift in her hands, Huyen Anh could not hide her tears of joy. She emotionally expressed: "If the program hadn't arrived in time, this spring, I would still be silently, anxiously worrying about dropping out of school midway. Thank you to the program and the kind-hearted people who gave me a 'lifeline' so I can continue to write my pedagogical dream. This occasion is probably the warmest and most fulfilling Tet for my family since I was a child."

The belief in the eyes of those who give and the happiness in the eyes of disadvantaged students receiving scholarships are the driving forces that keep the “Wings of Dreams” program moving forward into its 12th year. In doing so, it provides timely support to many "little swallows," helping them grow in confidence, soar higher and farther, and weave the radiant colors of spring for their homeland of Dong Nai.
