Dong Nai youth poised for breakthroughs in the new year

2026 is the first year to implement resolutions adopted at the Party Congresses, Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Congresses, and Youth Union Congresses at all levels. It is also a year marked by a series of major events for the country and the Youth Union. This presents a significant opportunity for the Youth Union to further affirm its vanguard role in contributing to implementing key political tasks of localities and the province.

With enthusiasm and a pioneering spirit marked by proactiveness, creativity, dynamism, and volunteerism, young people in Dong Nai are determined to create breakthroughs in the new year.

Promoting a pioneering, proactive, and creative spirit

Nguyen Minh Kien, Member of the provincial Party Committee, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial VFF Committee, and Secretary of the provincial Youth Union, said that 2026 has been identified as a year of breakthroughs and wider impact. Therefore, the provincial Youth Union has closely followed the theme of strongly renewing the Youth Union's operating methods and has set up key task groups for Youth Union work and the Teenagers’ and Children’s Movements in 2026. These tasks are not only directive in nature but also reflect concrete actions to implement resolutions that contribute to the fulfillment of the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress, the Resolution of the Provincial VFF Congress, and the Resolution of the first Dong Nai Provincial Youth Union Congress for the 2025–2030 term. In particular, the approach helps foster the pioneering and creative spirit of Dong Nai youth in renewing thinking and action, thereby generating breakthroughs in Youth Union work and the Teenagers’ and Children’s Movement.

According to Nguyen Minh Kien, in 2026, the provincial Youth Union will focus on organising programmes and activities to concretize the “Five pioneering criteria in the new era” movement, including pioneering in the development of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation; pioneering in legitimate wealth creation and economic development; pioneering in international integration; pioneering in volunteer activities for the community; and pioneering in national defence participation. The provincial Youth Union will also advance the Programme for Comprehensive Youth Development and implement the Vietnam Youth Development Strategy.

Renewing the Youth Union's operating methods by enhancing the skills and professional capacity of Youth Union officials, particularly in digital and integration skills, will continue to be prioritised to bring the movement closer to young people. Apart from that, in a bid to contribute to implementing Resolution 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo on private sector economic development, the Youth Union organisations at all levels will strengthen support activities to encourage young people to embark on entrepreneurship, take ownership of businesses, and promote innovation and digital transformation.

At the same time, practical activities will be organised to celebrate major events of the nation and of the Youth Union in 2026. The quality of communication, outreach, and education for officials, Youth Union members, and teenagers and children will be enhanced. Volunteer activities will continuously be carried out in a more focused, practical manner, linked to local socio-economic development and environmental protection efforts. This will also provide a basis for the Youth Union organisations to identify, nurture, and introduce qualified, outstanding members for consideration for Party admission.

Speaking on behalf of officials, Youth Union members, teenagers and children in the province at the 2026 launch ceremony of the provincial Youth Union, Tran Nhu Nhu, Secretary of the Youth Union cell in Thanh Binh residential quarter, Tran Bien ward, reaffirmed their determination to uphold a pioneering, proactive, creative, dynamic, and volunteer spirit, and to contribute to successfully meeting the targets and tasks of the 2026 Youth Union work programme and the Teenagers’ and Children’s MovementS in Dong Nai.

Translating targets and tasks into action

Based on the groups of key tasks, the provincial Youth Union has translated them into a system of 18 key targets and five additional targets aligned with the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress and the Central Youth Union Secretariat’s direction. Several targets are expressed through concrete outcomes, including: ensuring 100% of Youth Union officials and members meet requirements in assessments on studying and implementing Party and Youth Union resolutions, as well as State policies and laws; ensuring 100% of young people have accounts and regularly use online public services or cashless payment-based education forms; and ensuring each Youth Union member and young person participates in at least three volunteer activities per year.

Other targets include: each commune-level Youth Union organisation delivering at least one youth project related to the development and application of science and technology and digital transformation; implementing at least five models of youth participation in maintaining public security and order and preventing crime at the local level; and registering to eliminate at least one “black spot” on environmental pollution. In addition, the plan aims to introduce at least 20,000 young people to job opportunities, provide career guidance and counselling to 125,000 youth and children, support 25,000 children, and recommend 6,000 outstanding Youth Union members for consideration for Party admission.

Nguyen Ngoc Tuyet Trinh, Deputy Chairwoman of the VFF Committee in the commune and Secretary of the Dak O Youth Union (Head of Emulation Cluster No. 2 under the provincial Youth Union), said Cluster No. 2 comprises eight communes. These localities are in remote, border, and deep-lying areas that previously belonged to Binh Phuoc province. In 2026, the provincial Youth Union has set a number of key targets, many of which are challenging for commune-level Youth Union organisations in Cluster No. 2. Nevertheless, the cluster is determined to turn challenges into opportunities by remaining proactive and creative in implementing Youth Union work and the Teenagers’ and Children’s Movement targets in ways that suit local conditions and meet assigned requirements. Cluster No. 2 will focus on enhancing digital capacity and integration capacity for Youth Union officials, members, young people, and local residents, while stepping up support for young people in entrepreneurship and livelihood development.

Nguyen Phi Hung, Deputy Chairman of the VFF Committee in the commune and Secretary of the Long Thanh Youth Union (Head of Emulation Cluster No. 3 under the provincial Youth Union), said Cluster No. 3 includes 13 units across areas that previously belonged to Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai provinces. In 2026, alongside implementing the annual Youth Union work programme and the Youth and Children Movement plan, Cluster No. 3 will carry out four youth projects, including lighting up alleys and border roads; establishing a system for identification and guidance on household solid waste separation at source; implementing a “three safety” initiative covering traffic safety, school security, and online safety; and developing a Digital Data Portal to provide consultation, job connections, and improve workforce quality to meet labour demand at Long Thanh Airport. To complete these projects, cluster units have set targets to implement one to two projects each quarter, with the expectation of leaving a meaningful mark on the provincial Youth Union work and the Teenagers’ and Children’s Movement in the new year.

At the 2026 launch ceremony, the provincial Youth Union also launched an emulation drive among clusters to register and implement outstanding youth projects and initiatives in 2026, contributing to achievements to celebrate major national events, including the upcoming 14th National Party Congress.
