Construction starts on social housing apartment project in Long Hung ward

On January 15, the construction commencement ceremony was held for six social housing apartment blocks (2,805 units) under the Long Hung Residential Area Project was held in Long Hung ward, Dong Nai province. This is a significant event in a series of activities celebrating the 14th National Party Congress and the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (February 3, 1930 – 2026).

Attending the ceremony were Lieutenant General Tran Vinh Ngoc, Political Commissar of Military Region 7; Lieutenant General Le Xuan The, Commander of Military Region 7; and Major General Vu Van Dien, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City High Command.

Dong Nai province’s leaders attending the event included Vu Hong Van, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee (PPC) and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Van Ut, Deputy Secretary of the PPC and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Vo Tan Duc, Deputy Secretary of the PPC; together with members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Nguyen Kim Long, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Duong Minh Dung, Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization; Major General Nguyen Duc Hai, Director of Dong Nai Provincial Public Security; Nguyen Tuan Anh, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment; Member of the PPC and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ho Van Ha, along with leaders of provincial departments and agencies.

The social housing apartment project in the Long Hung Residential Area is invested by the Dong Nai General Agricultural Service Cooperative Union (DonaCoop). The project consists of six 25-storey apartment blocks, providing about 2,800 apartments. Construction is expected to take around two years, with completion scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027.

According to Bui Thanh Truc, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of the DonaCoop, this is a project of profound political and social significance, creating conditions for eligible beneficiaries of social housing to settle down, stabilize their lives, feel secure at work and contribute to society; at the same time, it helps build Dong Nai into a harmoniously, civilly and sustainably developing urban area. DonaCoop is committed to strictly complying with the Party’s guidelines and the State’s laws, ensuring construction quality, progress, labor safety, and synchronous investment in technical and social infrastructure.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the PPC Vo Tan Duc emphasized that the social housing apartment project in the Long Hung Residential Area is concrete evidence of Dong Nai province’s determination to implement the Party’s and the State’s policies on socio-economic development and improving people’s living standards. With a scale of about 2,800 apartments, the project will make an important contribution to achieving the target of 65,000 apartments in the 2025–2030 period as assigned by the Prime Minister and set by the PPC for Dong Nai, contributing to the fulfillment of the national scheme to develop one million social housing units by 2030.

Once completed, the project will help meet housing demand for workers, laborers and other beneficiaries of social housing policies in the province. The project not only addresses housing needs but also contributes to urban upgrading, creating a modern and civilized residential area.

Comrade Vo Tan Duc requested that the investor, contractors, design consultants, supervision units and related agencies strictly comply with regulations on investment and construction procedures, ensure on-schedule implementation, traffic safety, labor safety, fire prevention and fighting, as well as protect the living environment of local residents and businesses in the area.
